I can’t believe it…for once, I beat H to the tv and I fell asleep during the show! I’m not accustomed to enduring the commercials…I’ll have to watch it again the usual way.
I like Barry who sang Me and Mrs Jones.
India blows everybody else away. The first big star for The Voice!
Pitty the poor singer who is paired with her for the knockout rounds…
I like India’s maturity and her attitude, too. I hope Christina comes through for her in her song choices.
Yes… another vote for India! I’m glad she went with Christina as her coach. I personally would like to see India stay with the smooth, bluesy, possibly throwback, type of music and not perform too many different types of genres (even though she appears extremely versatile). Rooting for this Cali girl, even if she is a UCLA Bruin!
She’s NOT a Cali girl!!! She’s from Brooklyn. She graduated from LaGuardia High School of Music & Art. She sang NY State of Mind. She’s a New Yorker!!! We have dibs!!!
And, as so many others are, she is a semi-pro, if not a pro. I love the show, and the potential of rags to riches transformations, but the harsh reality that runs through it all is that you have to be both really talented, and work your tail off to measure up in the music and entertainment business.
I thought India had a little bit of a Diana Ross vibe in terms of her appearance. Maybe that’s just me. But she had that “radiant” quality.
jonri, And she sang New York State Of Mind to feel “at home”! Westwood might be her temporary home but I still like the fact she chose the west coast to attend college.
Voice judges play “Guesstures” on Ellen (girls vs. boys).
^Blake was better at the guess than the tures, huh?
^^^^Yeah, lol. I loved how he immediately got “Diva” out of Adam merely pointing at Christina.
Getting a little tired of everyone having a sob story.
I didn’t think anyone tonight was even close to India. And I’m tired of the sob stories, too. Did they say it is on tomorrow, too?
I agree, the sob stories are starting to feel too rehearsed and forced.
I dozed off tonight a few times. I guess no one wowed me enough.
I am liking some of rhe singers today. The critics here are very tough.
Didn’t like the sob stories but I did really like the talent tonight and I DID like Jack Gregori’s backstory (better than his voice). Jack was the country singing attorney, whose business went down in flames, who sang Ring of Fire. (Team Adam, surprisingly)
I liked Lexi. (Team Adam) I’m hoping she surprises…
Did Jeremy (West Point singer) remind anyone of Jermaine Paul, season 2 winner? (Team Christina)
The only one who got a chair turn that fell short for me tonight was Briar. (Team Pharrell) Not to be confused with Brian. (Team Blake, surprisingly)
What happened to Adam and Blake’s pact when it came to Corey (Team Blake)?
Snowflake, better get a nap in before the shows next week.
Agree that Jeremy and Jermaine Paul are cut from the same cloth, jshain. Voters are going to love Jeremy with his military connection if he makes it to the live rounds. I think I may have found my country favorite last night with Corey Kent, but Jack was awfully good.
I fell asleep Monday night and had to watch the last half hour off the dvr yesterday afternoon. I agree with all the kudos for India. She was amazing.
You know a sob story is going too far when a girl cries over a log home she lived in…until she was 4.
“You know a sob story is going too far when a girl cries over a log home she lived in…until she was 4.”
I missed that one. Maybe she’s got a really good memory, or it’s the worst thing that ever happened in her life (now that is privileged!). Is she crying because she had to live in it, or had to leave it? I love those log cabins.
bus, She cried because her daddy worked hard to obtain the home and then had to sell it when her parents divorced. I think the crying was about the divorce but I’m no psychologist. I also suspect that you may also have been asking a rhetorical question…
