Sawyer sounds like a James Taylor-Jim Croce combination to me. I could be wrong though. I think I am hearing Jim Croce in my mind today.

My husband thought sawyer lost his way during the song last night and missed and messed up lyrics.
^^ Not sure he messed up the lyrics but he had a weird interruption after one minute, and looked like a deer in the lights for a few seconds. He clearly was trying to remember the words, but his fans will think it was artistic genius.
I don’t think many noticed or cared.
Sawyer reminds me a little of John Denver. I think it’s his mouth. He is incredible poised for one so young.
I think The Voice’s idea of “stripped down” must mean no backup dancers, smoke or fancy lighting.
I’d pick Lowell, Mia Z (love that girl), and Sawyer from Pharrell’s team; Corey, Meghan, and Hannah from Blake’s.
I was underwhelmed by Corey, who I expected to be better. Probably because my main memory of that song is Lea Michele/Rachel singing it in the tribute to Cory Monteith tribute segment of Glee. It was heart breaking.
I don’t watch The Voice but there was a story about him on our local news tonight (he’s a local boy) so I will watch the rest of the shows. Seems like a nice kid.
Corey certainly doesn’t have the chops like Lea Michele.

I think tonight’s performances were stronger than last night’s.
@dstark, one girl, I believe her name was Lexi, sang Carmen’s “All By Myself” and it was painful.
The audience at The Voice has no ears. They love the screaming that has returned. No surprise that the screams come from Team Christina or better said, Team Pitchy tonight. The comments of the judges are worthless.
Adam was true to himself. He threw 3 of his guys under the bus. Poor Nathan the most.
Oh well. Time to drop 40 percent and move on. This should pretty easy. Too bad they can send more than two home from one team.
Christina has a strong team. (Maybe a little too strong according to some of you.)
Adam’s song choices leave a lot to be desired. Poor Nathan is right, xiggi.
I may have liked Lexi the most, but I admit that was a song I like. Sometimes it’s hard to separate a singer from the song. Blake and I liked that high note.
Why was she wearing your grandmother’s tablecloth? For the same reason she was singing your grandmother’s song. It makes you wonder how much choice they’re giving these contestants.

I am not sure Team Christina is that strong. That Kimberly will probably come in third says enough. The bottom two should not be surprising. Lexi labored through a good song. Sonic was just meh. Even India was wobbly and could not control her vibrato. Rob was solid.
Adam? They could send of them home and all would we well. Why people pick him as a favorite coach is puzzling.

So I watched last night’s show (not from the bathroom), and have some different opinions than others. Lowell, Meghan, Hannah, Brooke–meh. Coryn-nice, but I agree, too breathy, also too nervous. Mia-great. Corey-though I don’t like country, I thought he sounded good. Sawyer, wow. How can that manly voice come from a guy that looks like a pretty young girl? I don’t know if he is beatable.
It only takes one bad song choice and the clueless voters to be … beaten. Last year, there was a favorite from the start to the last week. Adam’s did him in with the song choice and Blake sneaked his CW likeable guy in.
Hard no to like Sawyer but one of the pitchy belters might get the votes. Look at tonight and we might think the judges listened to Adele or Leona Lewis. Pretty silly.
