I feel like Megan could have nailed that song, but I just didn’t like her presentation much.
Josh…like him, not a great song choice. Koryn was great as was Rob. They’ll be fighting it out for the bottom with many contenders to go home.
I thought Megan was strong tonight. I don’t know that song, so if she butchered it, I wouldn’t know. Don’t count Blake out. Megan can sing and Corey is cute as a bug and gets better each week.
I did not love Sawyer tonight. His missed note was awkward for me and he seemed to be staring unfocused at something with no connection at all.
I liked Kimberley’s performance. After a poor start, the show and performances got better in the last 2/3rds.
That schtick of Sawyers is growing old.
Kimberly is killing it too.
Brian, deana, india, corey and Hannah could all go home after tonight imo…sawyer better step it up, he’s by no means a sure thing like I previously thought.
I am admittedly a Sawyer fan, but I don’t see it as a schtick. He’s doing his thing and staying true to what he is, the singer-songwriter, folksy vibe. He does have some competition, though.
I missed hearing my favorite, Hannah, tonight.
Sawyer showed his age.
India was impressive. Kimberly should get a lot of votes. I still like Meghan.
It is good to remember that the winner is not the best of 10, 9, or even 6. It is the one that survives elimination rounds. Voters are fickle as they often vote for personalities and songs over actual performances. They also get bored easily. There are also pockets of voters that are predictable. For that reason, do not underestimate Blake’s posse. He only needs a three legged pony to win the Triple Crown. The belters and screamers end up suffering from split votes as they become undistinguishable from one another. Most of them are simply good backup singers.
I hope for an artist to emerge but that has hardly be the direction of a show that crowned people like Chin and Kaufman.
PS Can they please stop the Beatles and Rolling Stone renditions?
Xiggi, I am going to be happy?
Not impressed with Hannah. Brian…no.
Joshua is going to sing America by Simon and Garfunkel tonight. Yeah…love that!
He ought to knock that one out of the park. I’m always thinking he should sing a Simon and Garfunkel song, that’s the sort of music he should do. I hope he’s great.
The fact that Blake had never heard America floored me.
I love Sawyer’s voice but he seemed to miss some notes…
I just heard Sawyer. I wonder if his sixteen-year-old voice is changing a bit, still. This wasn’t his strongest
performance, and I think he could have done more with it. Not sure it will hurt him much, thought, as his fans will probably give him a pass because we really like the kinds of songs he sings and love his rich tone. He speaks to young kids and to 60s kids (like myself), so he does have a broad appeal.
Yep, DS, Sawyer went aphonic trying to reach that high note. That is a limitation of his range. He does enough other attributes to survive that, but his walk in the park is not as cleacut as some believe.
Fwiw, had Josh played his guitar, he would have been the third best guitar act tonight. Surprisingly, the best was from Team Blake. Fwiw, Team Blake is surely not in the bottom after tonight with two solid performers. Adam’s team is falling apart, and Blake will end up looking smarter. I like Joshua but his gig is starting to show its limits. Not sure where he is going but gently singing songs like America will not cut it. He is pleasant but his music is what is played in the background of a romantic dinner. No star performance.
On a personal note, I did not care for the Flipper squeals of Mia, but I do not care for that song of perhaps four decades ago. Or is it five? Mia is much better than she showed tonight. Still not impressed by the belter extraordinaire despite the stellar spot given to her. That screaming gets old. But obviously she will be around and probably do well in the iTunes battle. Best of the night? Meghan.
Adam should have a bad night tomorrow.
Just listening to some of it. Hannah, ugh, off key, harsh voice, why is she still there? Is Blake drunk? Deaf?
Brian missed a lot of notes. He should have been able to nail that song.
India sounded so much better than the original singer of that song (which I don’t even like). She was fantastic!
Deanna, so sweet and beautiful, which may get her through this one. Not a good song for her at all.
Sawyer didn’t sound as good as usual. First time I wasn’t impressed. Maybe because after listening to David Archuletta (American Idol), there is no comparison.
Missed Mia. Rob, meh. Corey, okay, better than last time. Koryn, pretty good.
Now I have to go to sleep!
Xiggi, I think Deanna is safe. So… I think Brian and Hannah are going home.
Which means Adam and Blake are in the same situation…
I liked Joshua but he isn’t Simon and Garfunkel.
I thought India did very well…but she isn’t connecting with the itunes buyers.
Hannah was so low on her pitch tonight, she needs to go home.
I’m so glad Meghan has found a more modern look. She looked great and her emotional performance was quite moving, but I found her tone kind of harsh and twangy. I do think she deserves to stay, so I hope she does.
Kimberly can win The Voice. I love the song too.
