Is "The Voice" Your New Vice?

I thought Josh did well with Hallelujah. It’s a song I love so i was afraid he’d screw it up, but it was solid.

Jshain, there is no going home anymore. This is for all the marbles.

As expected, the first duets are horrendous. Please do not tell me Sawyer and Pharrell sounded good! Lucky for the singers, the duets DO not count.

It is Sawyer to lose, if that is even feasible with his iTunes lead and the RIGGED original song. We all like the kid but a bit of integrity would be nice at the end.

The contestants who wrote their own songs did well.

The Sawyer/Pharrell duet wasn’t good but Sawyer was better than Pharrell. I love Pharrell - great coach, great producer, seems like a genuinely nice guy, but absent the Happy song, he really isn’t a good singer.

Adam is no Paul Simon, either.

For the last night, tonight seems pretty dull. Overall I haven’t like this season as much as the others I have watched.

It does seem odd that Sawyer would be handed an original song like that. If he writes his own songs?, now would have been the time to showcase that. Meghan or Josh , Sawyer, Koryn for me so far.

Good grief, every duet was execrable. As bad as Adam’s last season. Execrable because of the mentors. The contestants did OK.

I wonder how much they paid Ray L to give Sawyer that song…of course, it was perfect for him. I thought the Summer Breeze duet really exposed Sawyer’s limitations, and Pharrell didn’t sound very good either. (I know he’s holding back to make his contestants sound better…) Meghan did a decent job with Aretha’s song, but she’s no Aretha. (Who is?) Blake sounded awful. I actually thought the K/P take on the Beatles song was clever, and it was about time for K to sing something with a beat.

Joshua’s original song was catchy, very country. Hallelujah was excellent IMHO, not the typical take on it. The Adam/Joshua duet was a lot of fun. Adam didn’t hold back to showcase Joshua, Joshua didn’t strain, he had fun with it, he looked like he was loving it, it was like two peers jamming.

Really didn’t like Koryn’s “original” song much. She finds it hard to lighten up.

IMHO, Meghan should have tried something like Janis Joplin’s Piece of My Heart. And her look continues to be prematurely aged. She really should drop the platinum bleach job. It looks lousy on Christina, too.

I don’t particularly like Koryn’s original song. I though her other song was much better.

I thought the Josh/Adam duet was the best duet by far…which is sort of surprising because if I were Josh I’d hate Adam’s guts.

Why would you hate Adam’s guts?

He’ll get the song writing royalties from any sales of the song and probably a lot more exposure than he gets in any other medium. His most recent album was forgettable, his first four were great.

OK, I love the Percy Sledge song. She didn’t butcher it, but I think she could have done better.

Meghan beats another favorite song to death. Does she have ANY ability to modulate her braying?

And I usually like her type of singer, but she is ALWAYS TOOOOOO MUCH!!!

Meghan, Josh, Sawyer, Koryn. Naturally, Sawyer goes last, right before voting opens. Honestly, I’m still not sure how this works? Do the past votes, downloads, still count?

I know some of you are Meghan fans, but count me out. I do not care for her singing or her whole image.

I like Meghan, but I thought she started that song with too much power. It would have been more effective if she had started softer. I thought all duets were pretty bad.

What a poor night for Pharrell. A borrowed original for Sawyer and a junkie from himself for Koryn. Two bad duets. Really strange.

Meghan and Joshua played by the rules. Her sing was very good. Joshua, despite not being THAT original, wrote the perfect Detroit, Michigan song. It should be General Motors jingle for years.

The fake original will do well on iTunes, but that is business as usual for Sawyer the Kid.

If I had to pick someone to send home, it would be Meghan.
I think Sawyer will win it, but I think Koryn and Joshua have both grown a lot over the weeks.

I liked korYN singing Its a Mans World, but I like that song a lot.

@Consolation, I think Adam threw Josh under the bus several times. For some reason, Adam seems to have preferred Deanna and argued much more effectively for her, did a better job choosing songs for her, etc. I like Sawyer, but Pharrell really has been great at choosing songs within his “wheelhouse,” whereas Adam seems to have the idea that artists ought to be forced to try new stuff…which often backfires. He had Josh singing stuff that was just too high for him, IMO.

@sevmom, all total downloads count in choosing the winner. http://www.nbc.com/the-voice/vote/rules See rule 2.3
