I love the song that Karla sang, but it was virtually unrecognizable. I thought she would do much better with it. Katrina is obviously one of the strongest singers, and I was surprised that she needed to be saved. (I agree, they need to get off the Adele clone look for her.) Tony can also sing really well, but for some reason–excessive theatricality?–his performances are very frustrating. He never opens up and just lets you hear his voice or his emotions filling out a melodic line.

I can’t get past Tony’s eyeliner. I never hear him. I’m busy trying to figure out why a nice looking guy would wear eyeliner.

^I couldn’t get past the nail polish as well. Also, if I had his full head of hair, I certainly wouldn’t be shaving it all off. I think alwaysamom said he shaved it for a role, but wouldn’t that role be over since he was competing on The Voice?

Lots of rockers wear eyeliner. Dave Navarro, Billy Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Pete Wentz, all the way back to Iggy Pop and Alice Cooper. I don’t see why it’s any different from women wearing it to highlight the eyes or get a more dramatic look.

I think eyeliner and, to a lesser extent, nail polish might be to a segment of men’s fashion what earrings on men were 30 plus years ago. It took me awhile to accept earrings on men at that time, and now, I don’t even look twice. The same could be said for tattoos on women then and now.

It seemed like Adam just phoned in his coaching. You let Kim sing "Rolling in the Deep’? Really? Was he just trying to get rid of her? He had some pretty harsh comments, like he was disappointed in many on his team, but they could have used some guidance in song choice for sure. He usually seems better. I was also glad to see Tony Lucca move on after getting skewered by Christina. That seemed really personal, but Christina doesn’t come across as a very nice person. Also glad to see the other Tony and screechy girl go home. As to the eyeliner and bald head, some singers can carry it off, but not poor Tony.

I think I will be going for Erin to win it all.

Did you hear Christina say something like,“Your name is Tony, right? oh you’re the guy… right.” during her dismissal speech…
If I did not mishear this, it was cruel and rude and reflected poorly on HER.

Yeah I heard christina say that. Very rude. She’s really arrogant on the show. I will place money on Mathai, Jamar Rogers, James Massone and Juliet for sure. They are my favorites

James Massone is really growing on me.
But don’t forget Jesse and the guy who sang backup for Alicia Keyes.

Every teenage girl voter will be voting for James Massone.
I don’t like Christina. She doesn’t seem to possess an ounce of humility.

Christina is really rude. Jesse is amazing too but I feel like he won’t sell a lot of albums when he signs a record deal. Like, I could see James or Mathai on MTV or on the iTunes top ten.

I can’t believe Christina threw her ex-mousekateer under the bus! I’m also glad he got through.

Blake and Christina’s final 4 performed Monday night and each had to eliminate one of their team members at show’s end. There was one surprise for me, when Christina sent Jesse home. I think he definitely seemed to be fading from his blind audition opening performance of so many weeks ago, but I thought the tribute song he sang to his daughter was really sweet. Rae Lynn was a pleasant surprise for me. She gave a really spunky little performance. Erin sang an Adele song. She sang it well but who can really do Adele well, except for Adele, herself?

I was generally disappointed overall with most of the performances tonight, including Adam’s and Christina’s performances that they did. I’m having a hard time erasing the memory of Christina’s butt-cheeks poking out of those shorts during her performance with her team and Crenshaw High School chorus.

Christina=tacky, tacky, tacky. I was embarrassed for her. In a show that is supposed to showcase the contestants, she’s always trying to steal the scene. I enjoy the other judges but detest Christina.

I agree … why does Christina need to showcase her goods like that? Isn’t her voice good enough? She doesn’t even move that well, so why emphasize that with clothes and high shoes? I do not understand why she continues to dress like an unclassy person; she can be so intelligent and insightful (and sometimes rude, but I digress), but then can look so trashy. Hmmpf. I think she needs a coach.

On the singers … I’m just not feeling any of them in this group. I’m sorry Jesse had to go, but Christina may be right that he’s already reached his peak of performance and style. Country girl can’t sing consistently, but she is still growing, so she can get better. On the other team, I agree with Blake in that Alicia’s backup singer is fantastic, but he should pull back on some of the vocal tricks as that takes away from the singing when it’s overdone. I love his voice, however, and he’s beautiful on stage, no question.

And please … what’s with the Adele for all the large, big-voiced women? No more Adele!

I felt badly for Jesse … Christina threw him under the bus. I think his performance last night was not his best . but he was still better than Christinas other 3 and the comments by the other judges reflected that. For Christina the show is all about her. In the beginning she had the strongest team but now her team is the weakest, or certainly weaker than Blakes remaining 3 singers. In the battle round she lost one of her strongest members (Anthony Evans) by pairing him w/ Jesse. A few weeks ago she picked Lindsay Pavao to save and let Sara Hill go. In her performance w/ her team it was ALL about Christina. In contrast Blakes song selection and performance was designed to showcase his teams voices.

It will be interesting next season if the contestants in the audition round will pick Christina over another judge it given the choice.

Christina has definitely been more ruthless this year. I’m sure that the duet people (the Line) thought she had thrown them under the bus. Haven’t watched this week’s programs yet (I tape them and watch later, since I watch DWTS on Monday nights). Looks like there are going to be some fireworks.

I would not have expected to see Jesse go…after all, Adam called him out to his team members as the guy to beat in the whole competition. He has a smooth voice like Javier Colon from last season.

Agree about Adele, LOL. After Adam told Katrina not to try to be Adele, the make up and hair people made her look just like Adele for her performance last week. What?!!! Didn’t they get the memo?

I had the same thought about Christina and her size 14 behind in those size 8 shorts. Embarrassing! Not what you wear to perform with high school kids for sure!

And then she took up all the time at the end leaving none for Blake. What a lovely person.

I think America should vote Christina off!

Now I’ve watched the show from last Monday and Tuesday. I wasn’t surprised to see Jesse get the ax from Christina. It’s quite clear that she is looking for growth and Jesse isn’t going to change much from here. I actually liked all the performances from her team, but think she did the right thing in letting go of Jesse.

Blake also had a tough decision…and he punts it! He chose to boot Jordis because he had to use a save on her the 2 weeks before? What kind of logic is that? Why did she bother to sing?! I actually thought she did a GREAT job in her song…

Agree with America that Jermaine and Chris were fabulous, especially Chris! The interesting choices came when it was time for Christina and Blake to save one person to sing another day. Christina was completely overcome by Lindsay’s song…talk about singing for a save!

I thought for sure that Blake would save the young country gal–but her song selection and performance were too safe…sounded just like the record, but with some really weird pronunciations…and he’s bonded with Erin over the fact of their fathers’ deaths.

Well, it’ll be interesting to see if Cee Lo’s and Adam’s teams will be so close.
