Agree that “Where the Boys Are” was best audition so far.
Carson was so sweet with that little boy. I bet he is a great dad.

I am watching!
She sings at a lot of the Vanderbilt games.
That makes me like her even more then, MOWC!
I was off the computer before the end of the show or I would have been typing Wow! repeatedly about Allison Porter. I have long stuck to my view that James David Carter was the best live audition (end of first night on Season 7) singing “Nobody Knows.” This one may have knocked him off the pedestal. I think you always know that the final contestant on night 1 will be someone special, but she really knocked it out of the park!
I think she’s a ringer, frankly. She had a real career. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alisan_Porter She lost it due to substance abuse apparently. Still…at some point you’re a real professional and ought not to be competing with amateurs.
I see your point, @jonri. However, they have already let that genie out of the bottle by having the young woman who was Michael Jackson’s back up singer go the distance deep into the live shows. I have forgotten her name, but remember her story.
@2VU0609 You’re right. She wasn’t the only one either. Still…I don’t think a coach–including the real ones employed by the Voice along with the celebrities–can mentor someone like Alisan in the same way as (s)he can help someone like Sawyer or Dia who have performed but haven’t really had high octane help.
I am here, too. I saw an article that said 12 contestants of The Voice have also performed on American Idol. One is MacKenzie Bourg of this season’s AI.
Yes, Alisan Porter rocked it. Good for her for giving herself a chance by facing her substance abuse.
I miss Gwen. No me gusta Christina.
Since I am unplugged from cable and satellite I watch the show the next day on Hulu. My faves on night 1 of the blinds:
Mary Sarah Team Blake
Alison Porter Team Christina
Mike Schiavo Team Adam
Caity Peters Team Pharrell
Night 2 is a let down so far (1/2 way through), IMO.
I liked the first night better too.
Not impressed at all tonight.
Agree tonight so far, is a meh
I keep finding myself switching to election coverage/trainwreck and forgetting to turn back. The show isn’t holding my attention tonight.
I think they should rename the blind auditions this season the last second chair turns.
Night 1 of the blinds had more consistency overall but I liked:
Emily Keener Team Pharrell
Laith Al-Saadi Team Adam
Angie Kilhauer Team Blake
Katy Hay Team Christina
I’m two days late and two dollars short this season, but I think the quality is higher than ever. The one I felt iffiest about was the 15 yr old who came back, although she was pleasant to listen to. (Night #2) Allisan (Night #1) was amazing. I don’t think she’s any more of a ringer–sounds like she was primarily an actress-- than Judith Hill, Jermaine Paul, or Cassadee Pope, to name a few. (Or the bleached blonde scenery chewer on Blake’s team a couple of seasons ago. Meghan?) Emily Keener was really interesting. Also really like the guy from NJ with the grandfather.
Look forward to seeing how many of these develop.
Am enjoying the Sunday reruns!
Now I play along with that stupid app I’m very picky about who I’m putting on my team. No one made it from the second night.
If Christina could control her need to sing after the contestants on how they should have done it, maybe I would like her more. I just roll my eyes every time.
Anyone watching tonight? I came in a little late but I liked the guy who sang Pharell’s song and the girl from Nebreska. Pharell got a couple of good ones.
