Is "The Voice" Your New Vice?

Jshain, oh yes, I’ve seen it! It was posted on the pastor’s Facebook page :-). With two first names she was destined for country and coach Blake! Hoping she gets to continue for a long time. She seems like a sweet girl.

Mary Sarah was my favorite of the night. Do they get to pick the name they want to use? Dumb question, but Sarah isn’t her last name, right?

Mary Sarah is on my business bubble. I think she’ll make it far in the competition.

I wish I could edit…business shouldn’t be in there.

@allThisIsNewToMe, at least two country singers have won so far, and many others have made it to the final few, so it is no handicap.

She does have a very distinctive voice.

I thought Blake could have made a better song choice for her battle round. Her versatility and range gives her a lot of options. She should be fun to watch!

I thought that Blake’s battle round choice was designed to tank her opponent, whose more nuanced style was partly obliterated by the piercing quality of her voice. Actually, I thought he did remarkably well in standing up to her, and I really would have liked to see him continue. Her too. I was disappointed that he wasn’t stolen.

Mary Sarah has a last name AND an album. Unfair competition!

Yep, and Bridges is her album. She does duets with Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson on the album and she’s also sung with Vince Gill.

Her name is Mary Sarah Gross. Everyone calls her “Mary Sarah”. Kind of an unfortunate last name especially for an aspiring performer. DH is a church musician. Many of the singers record these days. He’s played on several of them. It doesn’t really mean anything.

Tell that to the 16 yr olds.

enjoying it this year; downloaded ryan quinns blind audition “cant find my way home”

but i agree with post #4019 and @Youdon’tsay ----- they must be fed some information ahead of time. Eg: asking the curly sue gal about some things . . … christina and the girl crush . . . and starland vocal band kid . … they must be fed some information ahead of time.

i dont blame the producers - but we are catching on!

Good show tonight. I like Daniel. I’m a sucker for classical training, I guess.

music mom, I also liked Daniel.

Brian Nhira was a great steal by Adam.

Emily Keener didn’t get to shine-- yet…

Alisan Porter over sings too much for my liking. She’s on my team but I do not see her winning.

Glad Blake stole Lacy. He’s the better suited coach for her than Christina was, IMO.

Watch out for Caroline Burns. She’s a more talented version of Emily Ann Roberts from last season.

I really liked Caroline and Daniel. Allisan is on my team but I don’t really care for her after last night. I put Caroline on my team.

“California Dreamin”, last night’s battle duet with Alisan and Lacy, is currently at #98 on the iTunes downloads.

Looking forward to the battle rounds wrapping up tonight and the knockout rounds starting next week. During the knockouts, each remaining artist on a team is paired up but sings a song of their choosing solo. Each coach gets one more steal during this round.

I am especially curious to see how Caity Peters does in the final battle round tonight. Won’t actually get to see tonight’s show until Wednesday morning on Hulu. Looking forward to reading the comments before then.

I like reading your updates @jshain

Thanks Van. Probably not the best day to discuss trivial matters given the latest attack in Brussels. That is definitely the one thing I miss most about cable or satellite TV. My news comes at least a day late unless I read it online.

I think when terrible things happen is the best time to discuss trivial matters, takes your mind off the awfulness.

Okay then in our trivial pursuit, what is happening on the Voice tonight???
