Is "The Voice" Your New Vice?

Bash’s dad is hitting it out of the park!

I just can’t get with country western…

@jym626, you must not be from Texas

@VANURSEPRAC That would be correct.

I’m from Boston, and I love country. A sucker for sob stories, I guess. Love Lone Star band and others.

ITs not the lyrics, it’s the melody. Just do not like country. Especially the twangy twangy stuff. Just not my cuppa tea. So even if the singers are good, it’s hard to get past the music that is not enjoyable.

bookworm, You commented on something I like least about the show: The coaching comments during the live rounds are all sugar coated so as not to adversely affect the voting and presumably as a pact with their fellow coaches not to sabotage another coach’s team member.

Dang it, I sure wanted Owen to perform on the first night, thinking this will not bode well for him. He is my kind of genre type guy. Of course I do love my Red Dirt Rebel Texas County!

Blake and Cristina’s teams performed tonight with Pharrell and Adam’s singing tomorrow night. I believe three from each team will go home on Wednesday. So Owen still has as good a chance as any at this point. Seems pretty drastic to go from 24 to 12 in one cut!

No top-10 iTunes ranked performances as of 9 AM Pacific Time, with a 12 Noon cut-off. Alisan Porter is closest at #12. Nick Hagelin #26, Adam Wakefield #30, Bryan Bautista #38, Ryan #58, Katie #59, Joe #65, Mary Sarah #68, Kata #81, Justin #110.

Biggest shocker (but not really, given a really poor song choice, IMO): Tamar Davis
Second-worst song choice and performance shocker: Mary Sarah ((She should have played the song on her guitar without all the backup).
Best comeback: Nick Hagelin
Worst wardrobe makeover: Katie Basden, who sounded great and looked horrible, IMO.
Recording artist getting the most airtime, season-to-date: Sam Smith

I didn’t love the show tonight. Too many weird song choices and change-ups. Fingers crossed that Tamar stays but she didn’t help her cause on Monday. Without the 10X multiplyer coming into play as much, it’s anyone’s guess who will get the most votes.

I watched it live last night, which is unusual for me.

What the hell was Tamar singing? Awful. I have always hated the Lyn Anderson song May Sarah sang, and the way she sang it one could never be certain whether she was off-pitch deliberately or accidentally.

Alisan, great song. It would have been a good choice for Kata, who should do Janis. Maybe Piece of My Heart…

Happy to see Nick back, and he did a good job.

Ryan came through. I’m keeping him for now. Adam great again.

Totally agree about Katie Basden. What is with the women’s wardrobes this season? Half of them are matronly, and the other half have bare legs and arms that could do with a little gracious covering. And often both at the same time!

I voted for Alysan, Ryan, Adam, Nick, and Bryan Bautista, who was also great.

I thought Alisan Porter was great last night. It took me a while to warm up to her, but now I’m a fan.

Anyone watching? Emily and laith slayed it.

So far performances have been very good. But what’s with Christina?

I haven’t cared for any of tonight’s performances yet. I think Laith did well, just not for me. I don’t like Emily at all. Moushoumi was unlistenable.

I thought Laith was awesome, and I think Emily did well also.

I am impressed with those if you who can keep up with everyone’s names.

jym, If you go to nbc.com/the-voice website you will find it really helpful in keeping track of who’s who and on which team.

Thanks, @jshain

Shalya was pretty dam*ed good
