Oh yeah. I already forgot about Bryan. It sounded like the background singers were doing all the singing and he was lost. He sounded much better in the rehearsal.
I have never heard Owen’s song before but I really like it…continue to love him!
They definitely put the best singers in the last half of the show tonight.
I just listened to the original 7 Years Old by Lukas Graham, and it’s really repetitive. I think Owen did it right. I still like his voice and unassuming persona, but I’m worried that he’s going to be overshadowed by the bigger voices.
I had really liked Emily too, but I thought she was really awful tonight.
@Barbalot , I really love Owen’s style, hope he can make it through to next week.
I liked Alisan a lot, too.
Maybe they had to turn up the background singers’ mikes, cause Bryan was so off key.

Thanks for the iTunes update at the close of voting, toledo. I had posted around 7AM Pacific and the rankings changed slightly. I probably forgot to hit “post comment” when I was done.
Mary Sarah continues to be a huge disappointment for me. While I thought she delivered a decent performance I didn’t think, strategically speaking, it was a very good song choice for getting a good iTunes ranking. Also, half the top-12 haven’t been seen and heard here on the west coast, yet their performances are ranked already?
What the what!!! How could itunes be that off!!! I really think they got the bottom 2, especially one of the bottom 2,WRONG!!!
It wasn’t iTunes. If so, Emily wouldn’t have been in the bottom. It was the other votes. How could America be so wrong on the bottom two? I was shocked. One chose a better song in the sing-off, so he moves on.
I actually thought she did a better job singing her final song than he did, but I’m glad he remained in the competition.
Not in terms of Emily, at least based on last night’s performance, IMO. That made my ears bleed.
I haven’t like Emily from the beginning. I still think her sing for her life was better than Owen.
Do they get saved by highest to lowest?
eyemamom, I believe they do announce the saves from highest of lowest without NBC announcing that fact. Sorry to see either Emily or Owen in the bottom, with one going home, this early in the season. Owen looks like his weeks are numbered. America hates Indie and Folk music… at least these two.
I agree about Emily. Her voice, unless she’s singing softly, really grates. It has no vibrato. Maybe it’s on purpose, but it’s hard to listen to. She is such a sweetie, though, I hope she continues singing. With some vocal training and a few years on her, she could have a real career.
Shalyah continues to impress me. Such poise and talent for such a young person. I also love Adam.
Sometimes the iTunes results don’t really reflect the singer’s talents. Song choice can really influence which singers people want to download. Alisan is also wonderful, but not so surprising considering her background. I think these three will be the finalists, if I had to bet.
I don’t think America hates Folk music. Sawyer had a Folk vibe a couple of seasons back. And if Indie became popular among the mainstream masses, it wouldn’t be Indie anymore.
I was surprised to see Emily eliminated since the judges all loved her so much, but I can’t stand her voice. She seems like a sweet girl, though. To me, she sang like someone who cannot hear talks. Can’t describe it exactly. I was also surprised to see Owen in the bottom. I really thought Bryan and Mary Sarah should be in the bottom. I think Blake’s two country singers are splitting his fan base’s votes, with Adam getting the majority.
I was most surprised that Paxton wasn’t in the bottom two. His vocals, to me, are nothing special.
Hoping that Mary Sarah makes better song choices, opting to stay old school-- either pop or country. It seems to me like coach Blake needs to have the final say with regard to her song choices. He seems to have given her too much leeway. The last time I really, really liked her was in the blinds.
At this moment, there seems to be a fairly wide gap between the top two, Adam and Alisan, and the others. Would love to know how the votes were cast.
I sent one of my very first tweets last night They were both my favorites, but I voted to save Owen, even though I was not as much a fan of his performances this week as I had hoped to be. For next week, I hope he finds songs that fit his more folk, intimate style, where he’s not stiffly striding across the stage. Maybe Passenger’s “Let Her Go?” I know here in his hometown of DC Owen’s getting a lot of votes.
Still, I have to concede Alisan and Adam are much more dynamic (and good!) and likelier to have larger mainstream music fan base than Emily or Owen.
