Laith is certainly a great musician, and his voice is strong and I really do like him now, while he was not high on my list at first. His guitar skills are amazing, for sure.
I do like Alisan and I would be thrilled for her if she won.
I see sparks of Hannah that suggests she has something, but then she gets called to write her own song and to perform with Pherrell and her lack of training and deeper musical quality shows. I am a white girl, and even I could tell she has no rhythm or soul.
Adam will do fine. He has his lane, he’s young, and he can write.
Alisan will probably win, which makes me sad. I really do not like overwrought screaming for the sake of showing folks you have power and range. Power and range are great, but they can be used in a much better fashion. When simple songs are switched up to focus on the singer rather than the song, I tend to dismiss the singer. Not a fan at all.
I still can’t believe Hannah beat out better singers. She’s an okay singer, but not finalist material.
I love Laith’s voice and musicality, but he is not a mainstream artist. What I like best about him is that he isn’t trying to be a mainstream artist! He seems to be working toward exposure and gaining an audience. To me, he is a true musician.
I am not a fan of country music, but I recognize that Adam is a good country artist with a very good voice. Country is big, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he wins.
I missed a couple of episodes, so maybe am out of synch on things.
Adam was ok, but not great imo. He has the outlaw vibe going with his look, but I don’t find his voice or performances compelling.
Hannah has some real vocal talent, but is too green at performing. My previous criticism of her waving her hands appears to have struck a chord, but I noticed last night that she does it when she speaks in the taped interview segments as well. Maybe its a sign of nervousness. In any case, I’m impressed with her voice potential, but don’t see her winning.
Laith is a pistol on that guitar. He’s the first contestant that I’ve seen with an instrument where it was a plus. He stands up there and when his instrument solo time comes, you can see the “Showtime. How 'bout this?!” rise up in him. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m guessing the voice band is back there saying wow! when he plays.
His voice is pretty unique, but I don’t see him as the winner either. Its possible though.
Alisan showed me a lot last night. I didn’t have the same reaction that others had to the Somewhere song. WHen it was announced I thought it was a terrible choice because of the risks, but I thought her performance was extraordinarily good. She has the best voice of all of them, followed by Hannah.
My prediction would be Alisan, Laith, Adam and Hannah, although I think Hannah probably deserves to be second measured purely in vocal terms.
I don’t agree that Somewhere was a bad choice, although I think that singing it legit would have been a better decision but we all know that isn’t going to happen with Cristina as a coach. And the complaints about showtunes? Seriously? That song is like many traditional musical theatre songs that have become a part of the popular music canon.
I am pretty surprised that Hannah is there but these things happen when it is voted on by the general public. I like Alisan and Laith best but wouldn’t be unhappy if Adam won. If Hannah wins, well, that would just be sad.
iTunes rankings stayed about the same as I posted earlier. Hannah’s performance of I Call the Shots moved up to #7 and Adam slipped to #9 with his performance of When I Call Your Name. I think Alisan will be the runner up. Either way, I think Adam and Alisan go 1-2 and in which order is kind of a toss-up. I will miss Laith’s guitar work. He is fun to watch!
i’m watching it online now; getting ready for the results very soon. Can someone tell me the gist of the lowes commercial so i can google it?
and i really have no idea nor gut feelings on who will win! i think laith is the best, but no sure who’s voting for him. no cute young kids like Sawyer for the girls to go ape over.
Kids meet when they move in across the street, grow up together, get married, fix up old house, new family moves in with kid ready to repeat the cycle.
Off to the tv. Keeping my fingers crossed to break the Girl Jinx, because I think she needs it.
I agree consolation. If Hannah wins, it will cancel out the concept of “The Voice” looking for the most talented singer, and will reinforce the lean, beautiful blond stereotype typical of Hollywood and TV perfect people.
I want Alisan to win partly to break the Girl Jinx, but I would be fine if Adam or Laith win. All great musicians in their spaces.
