Well, the result was no surprise, but Christina’s reaction and Alisan’s family gathering on stage were fun to watch. My favorite part of the show was getting to hear Jennifer Nettles sing. I think she’s one of the 2 or 3 best female singers around (only wish I could wring the twang out of her voice). I think when she sang with Alisan it put the latter’s voice in perspective. She’s good, but not great. I wonder where, if anywhere, her career will go from here. The fate of past Voice winners hasn’t been much to shout about. It’s such a crazily tough business where talent is not necessarily the key to success.

Maybe Alisan and Adam should form a duet-- they were really good together-- and she may have a better chance at success if she sang country?

I am looking forward to another season, but I hope it doesn’t overlap with the return of American Idol or another other voice reality show. I can only do one per season.

Hannah needs more performing experience. She needs to work with a coach who will tie her arms down and make her practice in front of a mirror, or whatever exercises they have for such habits. That being said, I listened to the “recap” last night from another room and she SOUNDED really good–she’s just so awkward to watch. And I thought her “bring-back” group last night (Adele song) was the best one. She has a perfect body, though, and must have been fun for the wardrobe people to dress.
I certainly hope that Blake and Gwen are together for good. It would be nice.
A quick something to watch if you need a Blake Shelton fix after the show. Jimmy Fallon gets Blake to eat sushi. It’s pretty funny. Blake really is a good ol’ country boy or he is at least good at faking it.

Fell asleep midway through the finale and just watched the results with the help of the fast forward button. Only listened to two songs completely, Blake Shelton and the duet with Jennifer Nettles and Alisan. I was uncomfortable with Blake’s song as I thought it was a high profile popping the bird to Miranda Lambert, but perhaps I interpreted it incorrectly. Loved the duet between Jennifer and Alisan. I think it may have been my favorite performance by Alisan this season as I frequently think she screams. I think she rode the comparison with Janis Joplin a little too hard in subsequent performances and I bored of her because of that. This duet showed a different side to which she seems well suited. Disappointed to see Laith come in behind Hannah.
I thought Blake’s song was an ode to Gwen?
I think what Alisan needs is a more stage-worthy new look. The hair/makeup/wardrobe people did her no favors.
Definitely not an ode to Gwen, I would think. It seemed like a pretty angry song. I agree with @2VU0609 that it seemed like a very public middle finger to the ex. So how many points did everyone get? I ended up with 1,382,000. I had kept Alison from the very first blind audition. I never did any of the other stuff for points. The leader board shows the winning people around 2.5 million points.

I had Alisan and Adam on my team, Alisan since her blind audition and Adam shortly thereafter. I ended up with 1,152,000 points. I never did anything extra for points, either.

I had 85,100 points and had Alisan since the beginning. My other top 5 was Mary Sarah who most of you didn’t like, and I finally saw why on the Tuesday show. She is a one trick pony with that one Patsy Cline song.

Anyone remember Melanie Martinez, the girl with the black and white hair? She’s playing the State Theater in Portland this summer. Evidently she’s become an actual touring artist. She definitely had a strong artistic vision…
Remember her distinctive voice AND her big red bow and her gap between her 2 front teeth and, maybe my most favorite thing about her, how she kicked the cymbal with her foot! She had multiple hair shades week-to-week.
