@jshain - Thanks for the welcome. I used the phrase “oy vey ist mire” often and I am probably younger than Adam’s mom, unless she was just into puberty when she had him! I actually said “oy vey ist mir! what will your father say” when my oldest son showed me his first tattoo. Sadly, I said first and meant it. Even my D has a tattoo. Yuck, imho.
I’m not sure I’ll watch it this season. I Don’t watch much TV, but I ws pretty faithful the last couple of seasons. I’m just kind of tired of it. But you may find me here some nights…

You wonder what the rush is to get married? After both of their previous experiences, they should just shack up with each other for the time being.
I can’t listen to miley’s singing; but she’s sure entertaining. looking forward to the season. I really enjoy watching it. question: has any Voice winner gone on to make anything commercial? AI has had lot of successful artists; but i havent heard a peep out of anyone from the the Voice. . .
Miley irritates me. She had surprisingly introspective comments when she was a guest judge, but her personality and raspy voice really turn me off. Not impressed by her singing skills, either. In fact, I have no understanding of why she is such a star, ewww! Love Alicia Keyes, though.
I haven’t followed American Idol, so I’m not sure who’s had success there.
But generally speaking, its not that easy to have “artistic” success, and become a star. Having the right blend of talent, personality, work ethic, and lots of other things enter in…with talent actually simply being a necessary-but-not-sufficient ingredient. Like most high compensation jobs, its not nearly as easy at it seems.
I will miss Pherrell, but I like Alicia. Miley may be a it too attention seeking and loud for my taste, but I will give her a fair shot.
I loved the song they sang together and Adam really hit it out of the park. Maybe when Christina was there her contract didn’t allow anyone else to belt or sound great? I also may be ready for a Christina break, but I do appreciate what she brings?

I liked Sundance quite a bit, but hate that beard braid. Maybe Gwen will stop in for a little makeover on him.
The 16yo guy was quite likeable and the duet with Adam was fun.
Miley’s flower outfit is already driving me crazy. Petty I know, but we have to look at her wearing that horrendous get up for so many shows:(
I’m not a fan of Miley’s music but I’ll take her flower outfit over many of the outfits Christina wore. I’m super glad for a season sans Christina.
