Is "The Voice" Your New Vice?

Are Alicia and Miley playing nice with each other so far?

2V … How did you like the voices you heard?

I agree … Loved the 16 year old crooner. Reminds me of Dean Martin andHarry Connick Jr. Will be interesting to see what else he can do, and how he will develop as a musician without being forever boxed in on that crooner style. I hope he can scat!

All the judges seem super-competitive this season, which should make it interesting. While, I don’t like Miley’s outfits, I love her quick wit. I think she will be an asset to the show.

The blind auditions are my favorite part of the show and I think I may have found several favorites last night - Sundance, Riley (the 16 year old), and Christian (the last guy; you always know they are going to close with a strong choice on night one). While I hate Miley’s outfit, I respect the way she is strategizing and not going after every contestant. Am I the only one who thinks the way the judges banter with each other sounds like junior high? I think I’m going to love Alicia as a judge because she doesn’t play that game so much.

There were some definite stand outs last night as mentioned by many above. I really like the addition of Alicia and Miley so far. Miley seems to be thinking of who to pick really based on her own strengths. Looks like a fun season ahead.

Agree, really like the new coaches! Surprised that the only 2 artists to crack the iTunes top-200 were Christian Cuevas at #133 and Riley Elmore at #194 (as of 8:55 AM Pacific).

I really liked the guy who sang second, Dave, as well as Sundance, especially after the latter showed some of his other chops. I also really like Riley.

I added Dave and Sundance to my team. I’m interested to see how some of the rest of them develop. Lots of good voices.

I really like Miley and Alicia. I think Alicia is very genuine and warm, and Miley is not nearly as trashy as some of her performances! At least we haven’t seen bosoms busting out all over…yet.

I liked Sundance (but not the beard) and Christian, and I also liked the girl with the deep voice whose dad was a basketball player.

I didn’t watch the entire show last night, but I thought the judges were pretty good (better than I thought Miley would be). I didn’t see so much of a bromance between the guys, but maybe that will come back at some point soon.

Okay, I have a new favorite. Billy, singing Adele’s When We Were Young, was fabulous!! What a good voice and great control. I’ll be watching this audition again.

Billy was great and I love that song. I guess he is this year’s “child star” like Alison was last year.

Sophia screeches too much.

Haven’t seen tonight’s show yet but Billy Gilman is already ranked #60 on iTunes and the show hasn’t even aired yet on the west coast.

Just heard his blind on YouTube. He just became team member #1. Incredible.

Billy’s voice is beautiful!

I really like Brendan Fletcher. He has the look and voice.

Another fan of Billy here. Gorgeous voice! Didn’t like the proposal by Lauren Diaz’s bf after her performance. I think this was her moment and it was made all about the proposal.

I was a little befuddled by the girl who lives in Nashville and did not get a chair turn. She said she had attended Belmont U for their commercial music program. That doesn’t speak well for Belmont’s program as I did not think she was very good and apparently the judges didn’t either.

Here are the iTunes top-200 results from Monday and Tuesday night’s Blinds:

Billy Gilman, When We Were Young, #18
Christian Cuevas, How Am I Supposed To Live Without You, #117
We McDonald, feeling Good, #122
Brendan Fletcher, Jolene, #158
Riley Elmore, The Way You Look Tonight, #189

I missed the last half hour, but We was the standout of the evening for me.
