Is "The Voice" Your New Vice?

Again, a lot of great singers.

Billy Gilman really, really knows how to sing. We was really good, too. The burlesque singer was pretty amazing, will be interested to see what else she can do. I’m adding Billy to my team.

In other news, I am unhappy to report that NBC has added commercials to its website episodes.

Yep, those lead-in commercials that you cannot skip on the NBC/Voice website are very annoying.

Does anyone know what happened to Darby Walker? She was the Indie girl that sang duets with Miley and Alicia during her blind audition, who ended up choosing Miley as her coach. She seems to have vanished from the competition.

They aren’t just lead-ins, they are frequent interruptions. They weren’t there yesterday.

I’m still trying to figure out We’ McDonald. She was the young woman whose singing voice and talking voice are polar opposites. How is this possible or isn’t it?

I have no idea, but We has a wonderful singing voice and technique.

When We sang, I immediately thought of Jim Nabors (Gomer Pyle) whose singing voice was so different from his speaking voice. I like her a lot.

Happy to find this thread since I don’t know anyone who watches the Voice except my mom and she only talks about Adam!

@jshain I think Darby’s audition must have aired during the preview after the Olympics? I didn’t watch see that episode. I expect it will air again on an upcoming Blind Audition episode.

I really like Brendan, Dana, Sophia and We. Billy is really good (he does have 21 years of training), but he still sounds country to me and I can’t get past the twang. I also have trouble cheering for the ringers they bring in every year. Even I had heard of him before and I certainly wasn’t seeking out 10 year old country stars in the early 2000s!

I really liked Indie singer Karlee Metzger (Team Miley). She is the only one so far in the iTunes Top-200 from Monday night’s show, ranked #174 at the time of this post. Indie/Alternative singers seem to be in short supply this season, at least at this stage of the blind auditions. Darby Walker, another Indie artist, is listed on Miley’s team on the NBC website (3-chair turns) but has not performed her blind audition yet from what I can tell.

I don’t remember much about last night except the girl who sang in Spanish whose last note was all over the place before it got to where it was supposed to go. None of them blew me away.

The latest Top-200 iTunes rankings from Monday’s Blinds:

Karlee Metzger, Samson, #157
Josh Halverson, Forever Young, #183

These were the last 2 performers on an otherwise unremarkable night, probably by design, due to the debate.

No one was a stand out for me last night.

I completely forgot about it between pre-debate coverage and the debate itself. Glad to hear I didn’t miss much.

I also got so caught up the debate stuff that I missed most of the Voice (great debate, though). The one guy I heard, Josh, I have no idea why he made it through. He sounded kind of weak, and uninteresting to me.

Anyone else watching? I like Gabriel.

This guy looks like an accountant .

@jshain Darby was just on.

I like Gabriel and Michael Sanchez. He needs to shed those glasses, though, too big, hard to see his face…and he’looks handsome, why cover it.

I just watched yesterday’s blinds. I liked Josh a lot, and also Kaylee.

I’ve really been enjoying Miley and Alicia. Miley has really rehabilitated herself in my eyes because of her performance on this show, this season and earlier. Alicia is just divine. I love her no-makeup look. She is so beautiful.

I’ll be watching tonight’s show tomorrow.

No one impressed me last night. I have loved country music Josh and Gabriel tonight. I saw Darby on the Olympics special episode, so I knew she was going to be good.
