Is there anybody on this show that is not already a professional singer? I haven’t watched American Idol for years, but one of its charms was that most of the contestants seemed to literally walk in from the street to tryout.

I think lots of the contestants are “professionals” but have been knocking around for years looking for that big break. That is inspiring as well, to see so many people stick with things against all odds.
Loved it just now with Jermaine , James, Pip and Jamar!
Cee-Lo’s t-shirt with all his team member’s names on it is cool.

Oh Hall and Oates were not …er… pretty. Seemed well preserved, though.

jym626, I did love Hall and Oates in the 70’s. They do look the same, as you say- well preserved. But I would have loved to hear She’s Gone or Sara Smile!

I do not like Tony’s voice, style, or performances. To me, he seems to have peaked on the Mickey Mouse Club and has been spending his life trying to recapture the fame ever since.

After tonight, my vote remains the same as what I said in #431 - Jermaine, Chris, Juliet,Tony. Will be interesting to see the final results.

Christine forgot her pants!! Oh, I guess that’s a “look”

Good results . I definitely didn’t call it correctly but happy how it it turned out.

Then it “looks” like she has frontal, back, and now… rear cleavage.

The results for the second place show how silly the voters are. At least, the morons could not catapult the least talented to victory, as it happened at X-factor. The Voice ended up with the correct winners, but it is incredible to see how poor some who came close to steal it are. Two years in a row.

Good results. Can’t believe that Juliet was so close!

c’mon, xig. Tell us how you really feel ;)

West coast show on now…

I enjoyed the The Voice group performances, however I thought Chris really got outsung by Katrina during his.

If you haven’t seen the show tonight, make sure you fast forward through the Hall and Oates segment. Worst guest performance of the season.

I’m really disappointed how much airtime the judges are getting tonight. Maybe they should change the name of the finals show from “The Voice” to “The Judges”.

Couldn’t sit through a 2-hour show, so I peeked at the results… I’m happy with the outcome and think the voters got it right. I’m also very happy for the winning judge.

Is the sound system crummy in my hotel room, or is there something wrong with the show?
This is the first time I’ve seen an entire episode, and I think…ewww!

They all sound pretty bad. The guest singers (okay, Lady Antebellum didn’t sound too bad), the competitors, yuk. American Idol singers crush them. The judges and their antics are just weird. This just seems really second rate to me, every last performance. Is this really the best they have, or is it the sound system?

Last year’s contestant, Xenia from Blake’s team, was a fresh face. I suppose that Pip and James, from this year, were non-professionals. Unlike American Idol, this show seems to end up with older finalists who have been in the music business for years, but never been able to catapult their careers to the stratosphere.

I know they all wanted it, but Jermaine’s desire was palpable. Watching him sing out with his wife wrapped in his arms… how touching was that?

Yay for Jermaine! I thought he did great tonight with his performances, too. Can a guy be any more good looking? Even my H thought he was not bad on the eyes, and he usually only talks about how much cleavage Christina is showing or what outfit Jennifer Lopez is wearing.

We realized that for this show and AI and X Factor you really do have to have a good sound system. When we listen through the surround sound, you can pick up on many more subtle note that can take a song from ‘ehh’ to ‘WOW’. For example, the Christina/Chris song is boring on regular TV, but we replayed it with surround sound and it was a tear jerker (as long as I didn’t look at Christina’s back rolls or cleavage, seriously).

I had a meeting so missed the show so looked at it online. My take -

The best singer of the night was the guy from the house band singing “I Believe I Can Fly” at the end.

Of the ones left in the competition, the right one won.

Juliet completely off key (again) with Flo Rida. There’s a reason she has never made it. Listen to her talk - her voice is shot. Both Jamar and Erin W. are better than she is.

Katrina out sang both Chris and Lindsey. She should have been picked over Chris. He has no musicality that I can find and is not even a decent popera singer.

Poor Daryl Hall - no top notes left at all. Christina, this is a warning for you - either figure out breath control, stop pushing and screaming in place of solid resonant high notes, or you will be right there with Daryl.

I don’t get Lady Antebellum - mediocre singers. They should never sing separately again.

Tony had no business getting past the first round. Christina is a ***** but she is right about him.

Justin Bieber is adorable but the bad grammar in “if I was your boyfriend” drives me nuts.

Had to come and find my peeps.

So much talent tonight. I liked pretty much all of them. Hope the 16-year old who didn’t make it tonight (and he shouldn’t have, he has some voice issues to work out) makes a great career as he grows.

Have to say that Brian Keith, the New Yorker whose dad is in a Latin band, brought tears to my eyes… after about two notes. And it wasn’t a tear-jerky song… he just had the power to move me with his voice.

It’s why I love these silly shows. Watching the young talent, feeling it move me.

I also loved Brian Keith jmmom as well as Gracia Harrison, the country western “yodeler”. Lots of talent in season 3! I even like the interaction of the judges more this season.
