Is "The Voice" Your New Vice?

My D’s friend was on Monday’s show, but he was not chosen … he was the young man who lives in Nashville & works as a valet. We thought he sounded good (and having heard his music, he IS good). Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for him. I thought he was better than several others who have been chosen.

kelsmom, I liked him a lot and was surprised no one turned around!

^^^^^ me too and I was surprised none of the judges turned around for the 55 y/o women. She was not great but better than several others who have made it onto teams. Maybe I just liked the fact she was older but still willing to try.

More of the contestants seem very young this season - especially compared to season 1.

I am tired of the blind auditions – 16/team is too many.

I thought your valet guy was very good too kelsmom. I thought the second chance guy was not as good as him. I agree that 16 on a team is too many.

I didn’t think the blind auditions on Monday lived up to the hype. Fairly lackluster during the first 60 minutes and not much better thereafter. Kayla Nevarez (around minute 62), followed much later by Rudy Parris were the standouts for me. Cody Belew was the last singer chosen by CeeLo to fill his last spot. He said he thinks he may have been an older Black woman soul singer in a former life. If in fact that’s true, it was an older Black woman who didn’t have any rhythm and couldn’t dance.

I agree Cody couldn’t dance, but I did love his whole character and energy and can’t wait to see what he’ll do under Ceelo. The rest of the night was underwhelming to me, but maybe I’m just tired of the audition rounds. I am looking forward to the rounds where the judges can steal … should add something interesting.

My son called during the explanation of the steal thing. How will that work?

This is the first time I’ve watched this show - what comes next now that the auditions are over?

Do all the singers seem flat to you? My husband keeps commenting that they are flat and all I hear is that they sound pretty bad. Then the judges say they are “pitchy.” I’m thinking maybe they can’t hear themselves when they perform.

I am hoping this new twist of “stealing” another coach’s contestant will spark my interest in this show again. So many of the contestants this season are in their teens or early twenties – I miss the more mature singers.

Would someone please buy Christina bras and tops that actually fit.

I’m really enjoying this year so far, there is a LOT of talent out there. I’m going to really enjoy the entertainment.

As I understand it, the way the “steal” works is that if a judge lets one of their artists go during the battle round one of the other judges can steal that performer. Not sure what happens if a judge adds a singer from another judge’s team. Will they somehow have to eliminate one of their team members in order to make room or will they somehow have an additional sing-off?

Tuesday night’s show was basically a recap of the entire blind audition round, with a rundown of each judge’s team of 16, entering into next week’s battle rounds. If you missed any of the week’s blind auditions up until now (and who didn’t), it is a great way to get up to speed with most of the 64 performers.

I don’t think she needs a Personal Shopper. Perhaps an injection of Personal Taste?

Anyone else watching the first night of battle rounds? So far I have agreed with all of the choices.

Although I really do not see what everyone sees in Gracia. I would have ditched al three of them.

They all sound good to me!!
I don’t get how the steal works. How will they pare down the teams?

I don’t know, but Gracia seems to share Christina’s hairdresser.

This season is excellent. I love the add of the new “steal” rule. These people are so talented. It’s sad they will all be forgotten even if they win haha.

BTW, Carson Daily is the most boring host.

And I can’t believe no one stole J.R.

For me, rising in stature versus their blind audition round: De’Borah and Amanda Brown.
Falling in stature (slightly) from their blind audition round: Bryan Keith. No other “surprises” for me.

I still like Gracia and think she is ready right now to make a name for herself in country music. I absolutely love De’Borah but wish she would go back to the look she had during her battle round rehearsal. I think her stage look is somewhat distracting and takes away from her performance. Loved the guest coaches.

CeeLo definitely tripped up in the strategy department when he paired JR and Diego together instead of putting them with Amanda and Trevin. Losing Amanda definitely weakens his team.

I also like this stealing twist, but did they lengthen the season? If not, then they will have to be eliminating people faster somehow. Did anyone one else think that three of the judges looked different last night? Christina was covered, Cee Lo ditched the glasses and Adam looked a bit cleaned up - shaved? I didn’t like any of the three country singers.

I agree!!, and I think CeeLo realized his mistake during the first coaching session w/ Amanda and Trevin.
I think last night was an “off” night for Carson. IMO, He is best during the Blind Auditions.
