Is "The Voice" Your New Vice?

Agree re Brian Keith, jshain. I was really put off by his all-too-frequent off pitch moments. I don’t even remember Amanda Brown from the auditions. She was the big surprise.

But I like everything about De’Borah. A really unique artist. And her parents’ pride and support is very touching. (Even if it is being played up for TV. ) I can imagine that they have taken some lumps in the past.

Tuesday night’s show just started on the Best Coast… thought CeeLo may have thought Cody Belew it but Domo the diva got dumped! Relief!!

No one watching The Voice this week or last?

Monday night’s battle rounds were just so-so for me. Tonight had an epic battle between Adriana and Jordan of Team Christina. I’m not going to reveal the outcome, in case you haven’t seen the show yet, but it was a crying shame that Christina had the only steal left, so Adam, CeeLo, and Blake couldn’t steal the loser! I thought the loser of this battle had the better performance overall.

I fell asleep :o Who did Christina steal? Saw the teaser clips but missed the outcome.

I’m watching it. I was disappointed that we didn’t get to see the battle with Brian S: I really liked him in the auditions. Thought the battle between Nicole and Brandon (is that the right name?) was weird, because of the age difference. She was in a strange position, since her relationship with him was almost motherly. Their duet was tremendous, glad she won, wished someone had stolen him.

jym626, Christina stole Chavonne the former Lady Gaga backup singer. There were some good battles on Tuesday night’s show but only Christina had a “steal” left to use, so there wasn’t much added drama.

I really like Avery to take it all. I can’t believe that he’s only 15! I have a hard time keeping all the name straight so found The Voice’s homesite helpful: [The Voice - Official NBC Site](http://www.nbc.com/the-voice/)

Avery really does have a VOICE. Also, he can bust a move. :)

Team Adam and Team Blake’s final 5 performed Monday night. From the opening group number, which I thought was a train wreck, through most of the show, I was underwhelmed. The one notable exception was Amanda Brown. That girl can sing.

Our power was out last week and I just now looked at the website and realized that Avery was kicked off. :frowning:

I swear there must be something about a live performance that doesn’t translate to tv because from the comments of the judges you would think every one of the performers sang really, really well. I too was underwhelmed. Agree about Amanda Brown. I also thought that Bryan Keith did well, not outstanding but well.

jshain and kathiep, I agree except for Amanda Brown and Bryan Keith last night’s performances were at best “ok”. Several singers I liked were eliminated in the knock-out round. I think this season the producers want a female, pop-rock singer to win ------- to keep the young viewers connected to the show.

Amanda Brown clearly ruled. I found Bryan Keith’s performance strange: his voice conveys feeling simply by its timbre, event hough he too often has pitch issues, but his performance did not. Do not get the love for Jocelyn, the mariachi singer, et al. Continue to like Melanie a lot, although this was not her strongest performance. I also like the Scottish guy. Great, pure rock voice.

What is with the wedding singer? She is capable of great moments, but she seems to find it SO difficult to break out of her plastic shell. Even her face looks botoxed. Only at the very end of her song did she finally break out into that great stuff that got her through the last round. She needed a kick in the ass, or a different song choice. (I really didn’t like the one she sang. Adam has a tendency to choose untuneful, monotonous songs, I’ve noticed.) I agreed with Adam’s assessment.

Amanda was by far the best.

It must be difficult to be Cee Lo right now and he seems very distracted.

Anybody watching now? I like Deborah but thought her performance just now was borderline strange. Singing was good and real good song choice but “dancing” was weird.

With the exception of Cody Belew and Trevin Hunte (team Celo) and Sylvia Yacoub (team Christina) tonight’s performances were not that impressive. Trevin was my favorite tonight.

^^ Agree. DH fell asleep during the show. I told him he didn’t miss much. Many of them sounded off key and just weak.

Cody and Trevin were heads and tails above the others, IMO.

I found it interesting that the final performers on these two nights were Amanda and Trevin. I thought they both gave the best performance on their respective night. Going last helps, I think, since that is what sticks in your mind as you vote.

I thought it was worth noting that Cee Lo mentioned Trevin’s weight loss. Both the weight loss and confidence level seem to be going the right direction at the right time. I really hope his story is true and that he knocks it out of the park for the whole competition.

I admit that I also fell asleep in the middle. I agree: of those I saw, Cody and Trevin were by far the best.

I really like Nicholas David, though.

I like Nicholas David too. He’s got the “cool” factor. Like the Scottish guy too. Also like Amanda.
