Is "The Voice" Your New Vice?

I missed tonight’s episode, but I watched the selection clips on YouTube. I agreed with everyone’s choices but Christina’s. She should have picked De’Borah, IMHO.

Looking at the lineups, Cee Lo has by far the strongest team.

I was surprised that I guessed all the fan picks correctly. Glad to see Nicholas David get through. That was the only one I wasn’t sure would make it through with the fan picks. I said to my husband that I guessed it would be Trevin and Nicholas but hedged my bets and said that it could be Cody if Nicholas wasn’t picked. I do think the fans picked correctly this time.

I thought the vote tracked the best talent to a great degree. I agreed with the Cody save, although I was surprised (not disappointed) that Cee Lo did not go with the Beiber-clone. I was also surprised about De’Borah not getting a save by Xtina.

Anyone know how the next part of the elimination is going to be handled? Do the performers pick their own songs from now on out?

I think it’s interesting how the coaches view their role with the contestants. Christina seemed to want to challenge her people by having them try out different types of songs while the rest of them picked songs to showcase their already chosen genre.

I also thought it interesting that at least two of the young girls mentioned that they wanted to try something else out so they weren’t just known as the “power singer”. That made me think about how self-centered they probably become being in the competition. I don’t think they are “known” as anything really at this point. I have to keep referring back to the website to even remember their names or what they sang.

I agree that most of the picks last night for the final 12 were good ones.

I also agree that De’Borah should have been a top 12 pick however I did not like her performance this week.

I really liked Trevin Hunte tonight. Kind of reminds me of Joshua Ledet, a top 3 finalist on American Idol this past season. I don’t think Melanie Martinez will be around too much longer. Didn’t like her song choice or performance. Nicholas David needs to open his eyes when he sings. They were closed almost his entire performance. Sylvia doing a Celine Dion song is very risky. Couldn’t help drawing comparisons to Celine which, naturally, didn’t measure up.

I’m a Verizon customer but for me it was AT&T time… Amanda, Trevin, and Terry.

I was not impressed w/ Sylvia’s rendition of Celine’s My Heart Will Go On. Although, unlike the judges, I really enjoyed Amanda Brown’s performance, along w/ Cody Belew and Trevin Hunte.

Count me as another who was unimpressed by Sylvia. In general, I am not a fan of hers. I also absolutely do not get what people see in Dev Duron. In fact, I would get rid of Christina’s entire team.

This was the best I’ve seen Brian Keith, but I think he was over-praised. Amanda and Melanie showed new things in their voices this week. I love Melanie, Nicholas, and Cody, and hope they will have careers, although I can’t see any of them actually winning this thing.

Those who should go forward IMHO, in no particular order: Brian, Melanie, Nicholas, Cody, Amanda, Trevin, Terry.

I’m rather tired of Christina trying to save her team by continually claiming their song selections are soooo difficult to sing and her backhanded compliments to the other teams performers.

I am so ready for Christina to leave the show. Her unwavering allegiance to the almighty money note drives me nuts. If she’s not ruining voices by forcing them to scream, she’s not happy. I guess misery loves company.

If I could cut it to 6 contestants tonight, I’d go with the above list w/o Melanie, although last night was her best, IMO.

Do you think most of the contestants are picking their own songs? Cody appears to have made his choice(s).

Seems to me Nicholas is getting tired of Cee Lo–. I get it that Cee Lo thinks N has to be more “star” but I’d like to hear Nicholas do it his way.

I find Melanie’s split personality hair cute and think she is adorable when her mouth is closed. However, her teeth are driving me crazy. I know that is petty, but just my personal peeve.

^^My DH said the same thing! I told him to give her a break. Everybody can’t afford braces.

i like nicholas more every week and he is now my favorite… but somehow i keep having an image of a joe cocker, george carlin (hippy dippy weatherman) mix.

If Blake and Christina had been in a battle round during their opening number, he would have won hands down.

Melanie looked beautiful with her hair down. Agree with Blake to stay with the guitar accompanyment. Hope she sticks around for another week or two.

Terry, Bryan, Amanda, Nicholas, and Trevin are always so consistent.

Christina may not be too happy Tuesday night when 2 of her team goes home (Syvia and Dez)? My 3rd least favorite top 10 singer is Cody.

Great season. Love Nicholas. A lot of singers surprised me tonight.

I wonder if the producers would allow everyone from one team to be voted off? Not sure they would let Christina’s entire team be voted off but I have been tired of Dez from the beginning.

Love Bryan, Amanda and Trevin and they were all solid but I thought the best performances of the night were Cassadee and Nicolas even though I haven’t been fans of either. I do enjoy Melanie and Cody.

I like Trevin and Cody best and would put them in a class by themselves. Dez is there for his looks and may remain there for that. I don’t see anything special in Cassadee or Sylvia.

I also like Amanda, partly because I give her big props for singing Florence and the Machine and Grace Potter tunes. That may be Adam’s influence, but at least she’s relevant. Loved her song choice last night.

I don’t know whether I find Nicholas boring or whether it’s the lame song choices. Anyone who sings Huey Lewis should be automatically eliminated. He needs to take a cue from Amanda and lose the moldy oldies.

Does anyone know if the order in which the contestants were told they were “safe” last week was in the order of the number of votes they received?

Wow, both Cassadee and Cody can out sing the lead singer of Rascal Flats - who is always either sharp of flat.
