Dez Duran just got saved, which means someone who deserves a save this week is going home. I was sure hoping Christina’s team would be gone, particularly after “lobbying” at the close of Monday’s show.

Edit: Melanie just got saved so now, assuming Sylvia is going home, the other elimination WILL be someone REALLY deserving of sticking around!

This year is a whole lot better than last year. The contestants that are left all have something great to offer as entertainers if not specifically as singers.

I HOPE the winner is one of the best singers. On a personal level, it does my spirit good to see so many quirky performers still in the pack. A world that appreciates the complete Nicholas still has a chance.

I missed Cody and Amanda, two of my favorites. Loved Melanie and Terry, Trevin was good but not his best, detested Dez Duron, Cassaddee was meh. The latter two would go, IMHO.

Was literally awestruck by Nicholas David. That piece is sacred ground. And he did it, and was genuine and convincing. I would have said that was just about impossible. I loved Blake’s comment: he was happy to be a part of the show that brought Nicholas David to public notice.

Christina’s lack of generosity to the members of other teams is unbecoming.

I only saw the last four perform and have not watched much this year, so I really don’t have much of an opinion. I think Cody is entertaining and Melanie is unique. Dez was pretty boring. Did Christina leave after he performed? I don’t remember her commenting on anyone after that.

I haven’t been a big Cody fan, but thought tonight he was really good. I’ve been a huge Amanda supporter, but didn’t love her version of the Adele song tonight. Terry also had an off-night, imo, at least for him. Thought the group number with Terry, Cassadee, Dez, and Melanie was horrible.

Tonight seemed to be the night of several poor song choices.

^^^^agree. CeeLo said at this point in the competition it is ALL about the song choice. I think Adam doesnt make the best song selections for his team.

Trevin was my favorite tonight.

Totally irritated w/ Christinas backhanded compliments to other team contestants.

My favorite tonight was Nicholas David but Cassadee had solid performances two weeks in a row. Hopefully voters won’t fall for Christina’s “sales job” again this week. Dez doesn’t do it for me and I hope he goes home Tuesday night. I’m also kind of tiring of Amanda morphing into a rocker. I don’t really see her as a rocker?

Christina is a pain to listen to. I also noticed that Carson did not go to her for comments about the last 2 or 3 performers.

I think tonight’s results will be very telling. I have Terry and Melainie/Dez as on the bubble. I am prepared to be very surprised.

Personally, I’d pay to attend a performance by Nicholas, Amanda and then Trevin and Cody–in that order. My wife thinks it is going to be between Amanda and Trevin.

My two favorites are Nicholas David and Trevin. I really don’t see what people like in Amanda. When she screeches the high notes it is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Terry has also been a favorite but I don’t think Blake chose the right song for him last night.

I am not on the Nicholas bandwagon. I like him but he just doesn’t grab my attention. I wasn’t wild about his take on the song last night.

I like Amanda but didn’t like the screaming last night. Love Trevin and Cody. Cody is the most consistent vocally I think. Trevin’s low notes are weak but he knows he has to get to the hight notes to feel comfortable. He will benefit greatly from voice lessons. Improving his breath support will make a huge difference for him.

Well, I watched Amanda and Cody on Hulu this morning. Cody standing on top of a piano, surrounded by a gospel choir: you’ve got to love the guy. As he said way back when, he likes to entertain the crowd with a little bam bam. :D

Unlike everyone else here, I thought Amanda’s rendition of the Adele song was, to use one of the favorite words of reality TV, amazing. For me, that was up there with her performance of Dream On. It is not easy to do an Adele song and bring something really strong that justifies doing it at all, and she rocked it IMHO.

I like Cassadee the best, then Amanda and have never liked Melanie. Adam talking about “all she’d been through” with some breakup was funny - what is she 16?

Dez wasn’t good, but would they cut him and leave Christina with no one?

I don’t know the other names, but I think the hippie guy should go.

One thing is for sure is that this a wide open race. A race that depends mostly on the song choices and the ability of a mentor to stop trying to live vicariously through his pupils.

All the singers have good and poor elements. Their performances vary from week to week, again according to the song choices.

By the way, I did not like Amanda and Cody yesterday. That lone leftover of Christina was easily the worst, IMHO, but I expect to be in a minority here. I’d like to see Nicholas, Cassadee, and Trevin in the final three. I do not think the young girl and the UK rocker have much of a chance to keep going until the end, and Christina is running out of ways to save her singer.

At least, this is nothing like the weak group of last year, or even worse having to sit and listen to an over-the-top and wildly screaming tattooed creature as we did in the first season. That was pathetic!

This show has dramatically improved as far as possible winners.

I agree that Melanie and the Scottish rocker should be at the bottom. I think Melanie survived the last round because it was probably her best performance and because the youtube downloads get counted as 10 votes each. Cassadee and Melanie were really high on you tube downloads.

I find Cassadee inconsistent although she’s improving. I think Dez should have been gone a long time ago. I still think Trevin is amazing-- not perfect, but I do think he’s the best. I think Amanda is really good too but I don’t like this “rocker Amanda” thing and some of her song choices have been poor. And I think Cody is a very talented entertainer; he does not have the best voice up there but he is the best overall package.

I’ve enjoyed all of the performances lately. Just wish I had a DVR to skip over the judges’ comments. They were helpful in the beginning, but now they seem insincere or trite. Dez has to go. I’m pulling for Trevin.

Toledo, I agree and sometimes just watch the performances online. I didn’t realize it at first but they post them on the program’s webpage soon after the show.

It was crazy how Christina found a way with every single performer to criticize them. Even if she had something good to say, she’d say it in a roundabout way with a tone of voice like they were average at best. Then when her performer went, she gushed way over what he deserved. It became a joke here trying to come up with what bad thing she’d say when Trevin and others sang. I won’t miss her on this show at all.
