i’ve been listening in the background while working on a project. I can absolutely not believe how good kennedy is. She’s in 8th grade! go girl!

I closed my eyes during a commercial and failed to open them when the show came back on. I completely missed Kirk.
Apparently the songs this week were chosen by the fans. And I think I heard Carson say only one is going home. I am worried about Dave. I think Kennedy was stunning tonight. I can’t believe she’s only in 8th grade.
I thought Kirk was better last week. I hope you’re right about only one going home, musicmom. If so, I hope it is Lynnea. She looked so much better than she sounded— flat at times.

I’ve been trying to put my finger on what I don’t like about Lynnea. I think I figured it out. Imagine the voice as a water sprayer. Her voice is like a wide spray, not like a narrow, more focused spray. It’s like she opens her mouth and the sound just falls out instead of being guided and shaped. Does that make sense to anybody?

I don’t think DeAndre was in the top-200 either. I didn’t think this was his best night.
DeAndre was but now is not. Sarah was not in the top-200, but now she is.
DeAndre’s song lacked broad appeal. No way that was THE song his fans wanted him to sing. I hope Kennedy throws some dance moves into her performance next week. She can dance!

As of the 1:30am time stamp, which was what was listed when I posted this, Kymberli and Kennedy were in the top-10 and therefore would be entitled to the 5x vote multiplier on their Apple Stream downloads: Chevel, Chris, MaKenzie, and Kirk were the next highest in the ranking order, followed by Reagan, Sarah Grace, DeAndre, and Dave. Lynnea had not cracked the Top-200.

Next week, TWO get eliminated (from what I understand), compromising the top-8 Semi-finalists, then the following week HALF get eliminated and that becomes your Final-4.

Kymberli was great. The perfect song for her. I loved how the judges, the singers, the band all got into it!
I think I just listened to Kymberli with my eyes closed. Frankly, I probably was dozing through most of the show and need to watch it again. That allergy medicine gets me every time!
Kymberli did too much screaming for my taste.
I was pleasantly surprised by Sarah Grace. DeAndre sang incredibly well, but the song just did nothing for me. Not happy with the song Dave was stuck with. Still really like Kirk. At this point I am kind of over Chevel. Her manner is wearing on me. Chris just couldn’t outdo the original or do anything particularly interesting with the song.
Kennedy was incredible. I take back any bad thought I had about power ballads. She really made that meaningful, as a young girl. Wow.
