Perhaps he could be hired for the next great reunion on Preston Road! On a serious note, 07Dad encapsulated my thoughts about Nicholas. I simply enjoy the way he and his mentor have packaged the songs, and I enjoy having to look up the original version. Although some of it reminds of one of those late night commercials for Time Life.

Again, I do not think that the middle-schoolers (and older) will push him over the finish line, but I would love for him to bring his and CeeLo’s approach to songs like this:

xiggi–if they could get Nicholas they could have an outdoor festival like they did with Steve Miller and Rhett Miller and this time ask for donations to attend and submit a song suggestion in advance. I bet someone could get some of the musicians from the North Texas lab bands to do back up.

Speaking of Nicholas’ mentor, Cee Lo announced a couple of days ago that his management company has signed a co-management agreement to handle Juliet Simms solo career.

I think it would be great to have some rock women a la Joplin, Slick and Nicks.

What! Are we watching the same show? Go back and listen to the original version of Rhiannon that Nicks made while it was Buckingham Nicks when she was early 20’s. Then listen the original version of Somebody to Love by The Great Society when Slick was early 20’s. I don’t see any comparison in the voices - unless you’re talking about looks.

Right - I’m just not seeing any hint of Cassadee in either of those two - more like Avril Lavigne or Vanessa Hudgens. Cassadee’s band was a pop punk band.

Cassadee and Hey Monday announced earlier this year that they were “taking a break”. She then has done a solo tour. I do hear her in these songs, especially Nicks. So, I guess we just disagree.

BTW-I did find a site that announced that this year the Voice was going to cut it to 2 contestants for the final. So, ultimately, 4 of these 6 are not going to make it to the last show.

I know some thought that Amanda was everyone’s favorite. I hate to say it but her exit does not surprise me at all. She was not an overwhelming choice in the early rounds, had to be saved, and was hardly a top choice before.

Melanie was the obvious choice to go home and did not deserve another week, especially after that awful Crazy rendition and a song picked to accompany Barney. Had I realized there were two eliminated tonight, I would have hinted at Amanda.

Not sure how many will go home next week, but the trilogy of the Hobbit has reached its last volume. Either him or Amanda were good choices to exit at this level. And from there on it will be anyone’s game, depending on the songs’ choices.

Well now there is only team Blake and Team Cee Lo. Didn’t Melanie and Nicholas do one of the songs Christina had mentioned on Monday? I thought it worked better than most things she did. Ah–song choices. I also thought Terry was showcased in the duet.

Carson mentioned that the voting was record breaking and pointed out (again) the itunes results. I guess to get a company to agree to give the winner a recording contract they want to make sure the public will buy their work.

Seems this year has a lot of interest. Is this going to turn out to be a final 2 of Terry and Cassadee based on itunes? Keep The Voice weird (sorta), vote Nicholas!

Now we have four excellent contestants left. Three are “unusual” and one is not. What was Blake’s line about who usually wins on the Voice? The most unique?

I don’t understand the hate for Cassadee. When she sang with Amanda, I thought she proved herself. I love her voice and believe we’ll see her in the finals, along with Trevin.*

Javier’s voice was the most beautiful (Trevin). Jermaine was the most professional. (Terry, Amanda, or Cassadee) Actually, it looks like J names are the deal, and last season the runner-up had a J name also.

I thought that both of Amanda’s duets were poor songs for her. She wasn’t really able to show her vocal stuff.

Would probably have to be bound and gagged to go on a cruise ship. :)

You lost me at Foreigner. I’m afraid I’d be one of the Suffering Bastards on a cruise. I saw Black Oak Arkansas/Humble Pie my senior year in high school.
