I was a little surprised about Mendeleyev. I know many of you had him on your teams. Neither of them were great on that song, though, so I thought it could have gone either way.

I agree with musicmom1215 about Country guy Jake Hoot. Love him. His vocal range is very impressive. He is #1 on deck when I lose someone and I might insert him in my Top-3 when that time comes. It really does make me wonder why Blake didn’t turn for him in the Blinds? Are chair turns scripted? He is Kelly’s top-seed, IMO, and I think he will do well with the fans.

My Top-3 at present are Katie, Ricky D., and Khalea. But, Katie is starting to bug me with her ‘cheeky’ performances. Wish she would take herself more seriously. Waiting for her breakout performance which I think is still yet to come…
I think this season has two of the very best female RB/Soul artists that have ever been on the show with Rose and Khalea. Neither one over sings and neither one has had their breakout performance yet, IMO.
If I had to do it over, I probably would have not added Preston C. Howell and given his spot to Jake Hoot instead. It was hard to pass on a 15-year-old male with that kind of tone. He is somewhat of a freak of nature, given his age.
I agreed with all of the judges’ picks tonight. Except the last one. But it worked out.

I have 2 on my team going head-to-head tonight in the final night of the Knockouts— Marybeth v. Preston. I think the loser will probably be eliminated. Musicmerit will be blowing past me any day now…

I saw that Marybeth and Preston are up FIRST. That is not good because you know NBC will save Blake’s steal for the final performance of the night!
I thought the Adele song and Legend song were “over sung” a bit, but each did outshine his opponent. I’m ready for the live shows to see how they sound without the wizardry of the production studio.
