Each is so different, it’s hard to compare. I liked Jake and Kelly’s duet the best. I liked Ricky’s original song the best. I liked Jake and Katie’s covers the best. I don’t really care who wins, but I voted for Jake.
Agreed… Gwen and Rose’s duet was really hard to listen to. Maybe they auto corrected Rose’s pitch before the show aired on the West Coast but they just sounded horrible together. I also think Jake wins and Rose takes 4th. I think 2 and 3 are a tougher call between Katie and Ricky. That original song by Ricky was amazing and I too loved Kelly and Jake’s duet— my favorite performance of the night. Here are the iTunes rankings:

I love that people are choosing singers who can sing, not based on their physical appearance. I think its commendable that 3 of the 4 finalists are large.
jym, I also like the fact that the youngest finalist is 30-years-old.
I just watched last night’s show.
I still haven’t quite gotten over the elimination of Mendeleyev 
and I think that a bunch of people lasted far too long instead of better singers (Kat Hammock, Will, the girl from Miami, amongst others, I’m looking at you ) but I think the right people ended up in the final 4. I’ve been a huge Katie fan, but tonight Jake Hoot really won me over. The duet with Kelly was really lovely. I appreciated the way he varied his tone to suit the songs tonight. I think he’s really grown.
All four of them are great. I think that the song choices tonight for Katie and Ricky were too much on one note, and might hurt them.
And Thank doG we are not plagued by little girls in the finale!

Have not seen the show out West yet. Hard to sit through 2 hours… if it weren’t Idol alums, I probably wouldn’t. I LOVE Yolanda Adams! Looking forward to her duet with Rose.
I agree that the best final-4 are represented. Also really nice to have all 4 coaches represented. I can’t help but wonder if Adam were still around, would he have a teammate still competing?

Yay!!! I like who won. Surprised by the order of the others.
Although I didn’t play along with the app, I did pick a top 3 and they were all in the finale. I hope each one has great success in the future.
And I hope I never have to hear Kat sing again.

I finished in the top 100 on the app. It was fun playing along with all of you.
A total of ONE MILLION points were available during the finale on Tuesday night, each trivia question was worth 45,000 points and the polling questions automatically rewarded you with 20,000 points. I missed the first 10-12 minutes of the show, not realizing we were back in ‘test mode’! Strung a few correct answers together after that. Then missed 4 IN A ROW. More correct answers… then missing 1 more.
Unlike musicmerit, I hate the trivia questions. It’s like taking a weekly exam in school! I think musicmom had the right idea by not answering the questions and just filling their team.
Thanks for participating. Now I’m going to enjoy my 5th place finish and, maybe even more satisfyingly, beating musicmerit— for only the 2nd time. Ever.
jym, I usually get the results ahead of time. Rarely do I sit through the finale and last night was no exception. I saw Rose and Yolanda’s and Katie and Adam’s duets on YouTube. Will try to catch the other duets this week. Saw the clip of Alex Guthrie, with Shane Q, Will Bremen, etc. that reminded me how much better Alex was vocally to Will!
Can i chime in here? Feel like an intruder I am not a country fan but Jake Hoot won me over. Love his voice but love him as a person more. Seems like an all american nice guy.

^^ Haha I’ve watched since season 1 too. I just like the coaches a lot, every single one that has gone through the show. Once in a while I see other singing competition shows, and I cringed watching some of the coaches. A lot are just super annoying lol
I generally like most singing competition coaches, but I would be happy to never see Katy Perry again. That being said, I am happy for Jake.
