Is "The Voice" Your New Vice?

I agree about Megan and her enunciation. It seems to be a problem with a lot of young artists these days and I never understand why the coaches don’t catch and correct it. It’s a joke in my house whenever I hear someone singing like that “I know Mom, you can’t understand the words they’re saying…”

Hey @skieurope , do you know what the plans are for the live shows?

I thought it was a really good show last night! Anyone else?

Yes. But I was totally surprised by Thunderstorm and Cedrice.

The four in the sing-off were ok. I liked the last two the best, boy and the only girl. Can’t remember their names, but hey, we’ve barely met them!

FYI: The Voice this week is a recap show: ‘Road to the Live shows’.

I don’t like recap shows, but I watched anyway, thinking that they were going to announce the winner of the SAVES last week. Spoiler alert: They did not.

I am liking The Voice so much better than AI, which has become really cheesy. And the Voice singers are really good this season!

I also like The Voice better. Loved the beginning tonight with James Taylor. Very emotional.

Hard to pick a favorite tonight.

I thought Team Blake laid a giant egg tonight. Those song choices… yikes. I even thought Toneisha had her worst performance of the season but obviously still one of the front runners. I lost Nelson, probably going to replace him with Camm for just 2 days.

Definitely some sub par performances last night I thought. It was interesting to see them all performing “at home”. Since some of them had special effects, I am assuming they taped them earlier, did the producers edit those (like the one in the tiny home/trailer that Zan did)? I thought Micah did well and also Thunderstorm. Agree that Blakes team was off the mark last night. It’s really too bad for these performers that they have made it this far and don’t get to interact with their coaches.

I thought the sound and production value was much better on American Idol.

@CMB625 Carson announced at the beginning that the performances were taped.

I was very disappointed in Mandy (the one who auditioned with opera). That song did not do anything for her and I thought the pitch was way off in most of it.

I think I liked Cam best last night. I say “I think” because I dozed off for a second and awoke thinking, “Who is that guy?” LOL

Where’s my buddy musicmerit this week? I want to hear who you’re putting into your Top-3. Here’s my all-female trio:

Megan
Toneisha
Allegra

Megan has been my front runner all season but I might be happiest if Toneisha won. Having just 3 spots on the play-at-home App does not make sense to me, if there are 4 finalists. My 4th would be Thunderstorm.

Agree with CMB about all the subpar performances.

This season of Idol seems to have more interesting male artists overall while the Voice has more interesting females overall.

I have Megan, Todd, and Joanna.

Just because I have had them for the most days.

I missed it tonight. Forgot it was on so early. I did google the results and the only one I really liked last night that I was sorry to see eliminated was Joei Fulco.

I decided on my Top-3:

Megan
Toneisha
Thunderstorm

2,540,500 points (9th)

Who’s watching?

I thought Megan Danielle had her weakest performance of the season with her Rascal Flatts song choice… Pitchy and tentative in spots. Usually fearless. Not tonight. Allegra was also at her worst. So far, Todd Tilghman and Toneisha have had the best performances. Been a rough beginning overall…

Cammwess had a nice rendition of a Kacey Musgraves song to close the show. He seems to be peaking at the right time.

I thought CammWess was good last week and this week. Agree that he is peaking at the right time. Also agree about Megan and Allegra not being great tonight.

I voted for one person per team: Micah, Thunderstorm, CammWess, and Toneisha, but I liked Todd, too. I think he will win the instant save.

musicmom1215, I think you might be right on your picks! Toneisha might be the only woman who makes the Finals. I was really disappointed with the song choices— including her Celine Dion ‘overworked’ classic. I like her best when she sings something more soulful.

Just a really disappointing night overall, IMO— at least for the ladies.
