xiggi, I agree. I can’t stand the screaming … not sure why so many people think yelling real loud is “good singing.” Good yelling, maybe, but not singing, IMHO.

I am a bit disappointed, because I feel like some good singers got kicked off too early. I am waiting to be blown away by someone. I do like Will more & more, although I am not sold on him winning it all. Like I say, I am still waiting … he improves each week.

Only one is going home. I think it should be Matthew. Or maybe Cole. I like Cole and he has a great voice, but kinda lacking in personality, looks, charisma, sex appeal, etc. Although Jacqui did a lot of yelling, teenage girls typically do well on this show, so I don’t think she will go home yet. I read upthread where Tessanne is only in her 20s. Really. I honestly thought she was about 40. She doesn’t look old, but she has a very mature air. My favorites are still Will and James.

If these 6 singers are really going to be big stars, wouldnt they be performing better on the charts? When are these 6 going to get better publicity than they are getting now?

I’m hoping Matthew goes home but thought James first song was the worst of the night. I didn’t think Cole or Tessanne had particularly good nights. My favorites are Jacquie and Will.

Thought at first I was watching the “Golden Globes” when they showed Christina. Guess it was too much to ask that she keep it classy for too long…

James is a local boy, and our morning paper says that James woke up yesterday with no voice and his mother said he performed with a severe sore throat last night. That explains the lackluster performance, but not the choice of song.

Well, I don’t know if the current I tune list is the “right” one, but it’s
Tessane 13,30
Cole 16,23
Jacquie 20,46
Will 25, 27
James 34,48
Matthew 39,43

I don’t know if they are doing the “save” thing tonight. James’s & Matthew’s ## both total 82, so I think one of them wil go home.

Tessanne’s best song was definitely Redemption Song, but even then she had to insert a lengthy section of braying at the top of her lungs. Her style just wears on me. And I’m amazed to hear she’s in her 20s. I would have said 40.

Matthew is getting worse. He was served up When A Man Loves A Woman–I would LOVE to hear Will or Cole do that one–and it was okay, but the other one was completely lackluster.

Will’s Sam Cooke song was wonderful. He also did a great job with Adam’s somewhat questionable song choice. He can obviously do anything. I am a huge Janis Joplin fan, and I have to admit that I was pretty blown away by Jacqui, although again, I’d love to hear Will or Cole sing it. James was James. I’d rather see someone else go home.

I thought Blake stepped in because Xtina’s remarks were bordering on offensive. In and of themselves they probably didn’t sound that way, but this is not the first time that Xtina has said that she wants to hear her Jamaican accent more, yada, yada. My impresson was that Blake didn’t like the way Xtina was stereotypying Tessanne and he said something about it.

Will is a lot older than everybody else, so it’s not surprising that he comes across as more mature.
