I think they need to stop having the live shows. The sound during the Christmas song is SO messed up - just horrible!

So, Matt and James are the bottom 2. Adam is now saying please save James. Xtina is saying save Matthew. All 4 turned around for him, etc.

Poor guys look like they are in pain waiting for results.
Save goes to James!

Matt is gone…sorry dstark!

And? Who is in? Who is out?

In the circumstances, I think this was the right decision. James was sick and should catch a break. Plus, Matthew had already been saved once.

See above dstark–Matthew is gone.

Jonri, you know what? I agree. Matt needed to go.

1 left for me. 4 left for xiggi.

If Blake and Cole win this…

Every contestant is going to take Blake first. I am only exaggerating slightly. :)

Jumping in rather late on this thread, but I’ve loved “The Voice” since season one. I never liked the other singing shows, but I like this format and for the most-part the performers they choose. I do have to admit that once the live shows start, I typically fast-forward through most of the “blah blah blah” from the judges and most of the guest performances.

My favorites this season have been Caroline and James. I was so sad to see Caroline go. I am SO glad James got the save tonight. I honestly think he deserves to win the whole thing.

Anyone else looking forward to the “Sing Off” next week?
That is also an amazing show!

Yes. Love The Sing Off.

Speaking of the Sing Off, my D’s friend is in one of the groups. His group is 5 guys, billed as a country group from what I’ve read, but he is a classically trained singer from a well-respected music school. The name of the group is Home Free. I never vote, but I will have to make an exception to support him. I did meet him once and he is a nice young man.

Back on topic, I was very pleased that James was saved.

Speaking about guest performances, they may stop inviting Kelly Clarkson. At least, they did not put her in a group with a few contestants. Last season it was truly embarrassing for that finalist without much of a voice. Anyway, can that girl from Burleson, Texas sang!

She shows how broad the gap is between top artists and the contestants. And she could out -scream anyone, if it sounded good. Pay heed, Christina!

By the way, I still like Will, but the most consistent and musically talented SINGER is again coached by Blake. If the voters have ears, the next ones to go home should be James and Jacquie in that order, albeit I would hope it would be James and Tessanne to … keep DStark on the edge of his seat.

I still think Adam will screw up with some obscure British song. Adam says he needs to be a better coach. Duh, Levine. You’ve been screwing up the last three seasons. Christina is hopeless and extremely annoying with her banter. Please make Jacquie scream some more and let her lumber through one more of your songs.

Sorry, DStark, it ain’t looking too bright. The good news is that you probably agree with me.

Musicmom1215…Very cool.

Xiggi, you are entitled to gloat. :)

My wife wants Jacquie to sing aomething like Over the Rainbow instead of another screaming song. I think Jacquie can still win, but …not with more screaming songs.

I agree about Kelly Clarkson too.

Indeed, I am! Those of you who are fans of the Sing-Off may enjoy this.

My personal favorite group from the Sing-Off.

In the beginning I liked Tessanne, but now I’m a Jacquie fan (projecting, not screaming, IMO). I don’t think Cole has a chance, but James will probably be next to go. How about Silver Bells with Blake and Xenia? That was painful. She looked like she didn’t want to be there.

Toledo–I am new to The Voice. What’s the deal with Xenia, she sure wasn’t giving much effort to that song. I don’t know the history.

It was time for Matthew to go. I don’t care for Tessanne for some reason she’s rubbed me wrong from the beginning. I’m enjoying reading the commentary here after watching the show!

I actually voted yesterday, for the first time. Team Tessane here :)

Not glating, DStark. There seem to be a whole of people still on your bandwagon. And I can see why they like Jacquie. I do like her too, as she is immensely talented for being that young. This said, I also think there is a lot of difference with last year’s Danielle who made every song sound great without ever straining her voice. She also was great in the “normal” range. Jacquie is just OK when it comes to singing, and gets her vote from belting a couple of high notes.

If history repeats itself, in the end the voters get tired of the screamers and they die on the vine. I really do not think this year will be different and I expect the 3 finalists to be the three best … singers.

For some reason, as much as I like Cole, I am afraid he will be the second Nicholas. While he was musically the soundest of all, he could not survive his looks and quirkiness. But again, he has been extremely consistent and has made zero faux-pas (so far) and the same cannot be said about the others who all have some lackluster choices, and this especially due to the “risks” taken by their mentors.

Oh well, this is really anybody’s race at this time. And Dstark might win … against all odds. Now that was gloating! :)

Words cannot express how much I love Pentatonix.
Looking forward to the Sing-Off.

I think that Will will be in at the finish, if Adam doesn’t get in his way. Still a fan of Cole. Love his voice. IMHO, James was at his best singing A Case of You. Would like to see a return to that sort of thing from him.

I think Tessanne is my favorite now too. I still don’t get the love of Cole. I keep waiting for him to actually sing something. He places words into the melody but doesn’t sing. I asked my singer daughter what it is that bothers me about what I call his speak singing and she says he maintains no line (legato in classical terms) in his singing.

Perhaps Blake has discovered the art of pleasing the crowds by advising his artists to stick to either mezzo staccato or non-legato.

Of course, the Oakie would simply say, “Call that winning, ya’ll” :)

“Oh well, this is really anybody’s race at this time. And Dstark might win … against all odds. Now that was gloating”
