Is "The Voice" Your New Vice?

Josh was a contestant on Star Search at age 16. Check out the Youtube video–it’s a hoot.

I really enjoyed tonight’s show, with so much talent. I guess two will be going home Tuesday night.
I felt really bad for Kristin when her mike went out. I wonder how that will affect the itunes downloading. I realize that the itunes downloads are not the same live show versions that we see, so the itunes song would be complete, but I don’t know if viewers realize that.
If I had to pick two to go home, I guess it would be Sussandra and T.J., although they both did very well tonight. I just don’t think they are as unique and “current” as the others.
I’m warming up to Josh. Tess and Audra were terrific tonight, as were several others. It’s going to be a tough competition and fun to watch.

I didn’t love the show tonight. I like the performances better when they are stripped down and don’t have the pyrotechnics, loud backup, etc. I thought many of the song choices were less-than-ideal. Thought Bria, Tess, and Del, three of my favorites, all had better performances last week. Bria got drowned out by the backup and pyrotechnics, and Del and Tess’s song choice were better last week. I personally don’t think Kristen is in the same league as most of the other top-12-- unfortunate mishap or not. Shakira was making me uncomfortable tonight, when she wouldn’t wait to speak last, as two of the other judges were making their comments about her singers. It’s as if she was trying to make up for the poor results of her team season before last.

I thought Josh was absolutely amazing last night. Just amazing. Also continue to love Jake.

In the past, the itunes rankings have been been fairly indicative of the show results. If they are this time, there’s no question which 2 will go home. I’m confused though as to whether it helps the week to week standings if an artist’s song from the previous week stays up there.

I’m happy to see that Josh seems to be at #10 right now.

So, anybody else out there watching?

Josh, Kat, Kristen and Audra are safe so far.

On the west coast, so, no. You might want to be careful of spoilers. (I don’t care, but someone might.)

How are the musical performances. I assume that the singers are doing some group numbers?

I am disappointed in the one who was saved. I don’t care for her at all. She was off-key tonight … not sure what the tweeting public hears.

Kelsmom is right about tonight, but it is hard to dispute the voters got it right based on the shows so far. This show is not a broadway audition. The worst of the bunch were sent home. The rockers should be next and Team Shakira might do as well as in the past.

In my opinion, that is. And iTunes’ too.

Is anyone else a little tired of Blake & Adam’s juvenile antics? It’s like watching middle school boys.

Yes, more than a little tired.

Very tired of the antics, the “all is the most wonderful” comments, and meandering comments in the beginnig so there is no time at the end. Maybe it is just my ear but they were raving over performers that I did not think were very good tonight. I can never remember who is who, I don’t really watch, just listen, but several seemed like they were still singing scared and more than one was still looking for the right note. I thought Jake was particularly off again tonight.

^ Antics or not, it appears that the teams Blake and Adam should survive another week without losing a member. Unfortunately in the case of Adam’s Kat Perkins, but the deaf ears of the public should put her through. Jake was weak last night, but the country crowd will save him, and several were eminently worse last night.

The bottom three should be from Usher’s and Shakira’s team with one of each team going home. I believe Bria and Tess are done --again showcasing the real poor coaching of Usher and Shakira. Shakira will probably be done and out in a week or so.

I don’t know, xiggi, Josh (usher) and Kristen (Shakira) seem to be doing very well on the charts. But I agree that Tess and Bria are going home this week.

I really like Josh and Kristen, although I liked Josh’s song last week better than last night. Bria just about made my ears bleed last night. Several of the others were mostly forgettable. The little girl on the piano, Christine is it?, I thought she was pretty good. She needs to work on her belt/mix in the upper register where she gets pretty weak/screechy. And I dislike Sisaundra intensely.

Josh and Kristen are very consistent. How much they dazzle often depends on the song choice, as you can be confident they will perform well. I don’t feel that way about any of the others, except maybe Kat, but she doesn’t have the wide appeal of the J or K, imo. I like Christine, but I don’t always like her performances. I agree that she has some vocal weaknesses.
I see these four as being among the top five. I don’t have a feel for who the other one will be. Audra?

Moonchild, I was talking about the ones who might be eliminated tonight. It seems that Usher wants to ride a single pony in the race and does not mind one jumping in front of the bus. Shakira simply remains clueless as her best candidate appears to be a matter of mostly luck. I really think Shakira will be left without singers pretty soon as I do not think Kristen is as strong as the others who survived tonight.

I still think Adam will be lucky tonight, despite Kat being plain awful. The other two should be gone by the end of the show. Give Kat and Shakira’s last singer one week or two at most.

I think Usher is an excellent coach. Shakira, although a lovely person, does not seem to be good at it. (And frankly, I’m not keen on her singing, either, at least not as evidenced on this show.)

Josh is by far and away my favorite singer this season. I liked Christine for the first time on Monday night. I think that Kat is usually very strong in her rock star genre–Paris Ooh La La was great–but I can’t see her winning. I love Jake, despite his wobbly moments. There is just something deeply honest and good about him that reaches over the footlights, so to speak. Delwin is excellent, of course.

I’d say that Bria and Tess were ready to exit. I would love to see the last of Audra and Sisaundra: I’ve actually muted the TV when the latter is singing.
