That’s funny, Consolation… you liked Christina for the first time and I liked Kristen for the first time. And, unlike xiggi, I thought Kristen had the strongest performance Monday night. I really like listening to Josh’s unique sound but I don’t care watching him. He has his eyes shut and/or is looking down the majority of the time.

I love the purity of Kristin’s voice. I don’t know if she’ll make it in the finals, but I’d bet she’ll find a profitable musical niche for herself after the show. I guess she’s a popular local performer in her area, and the publicity she’s getting now should certainly help her along. She also seems to have the toughness of character needed to make it in the business, which I think is important for long term success.

Jshain, I did not say Kristen was bad on Monday. I called the bottom three and did not include her. What Ai wrote is that she has -so far- shown to be weaker than others to move to the end. Coupled with Shakira cluelessness, I predict her stay to be short.

Fwiw, I also predict Adam to start losing his rocking screamer and the Starbucks barista. Never could stand the first one’s style, and the second one is getting old.

Anyone watching tonight?

My two favorites are safe and my two least favorites are in the bottom 4, singing to be saved by twitter.

I am watching, although I did not watch last night. I did doze through a commercial and didn’t wake up to hear Cat’s performance. Was it good?

Person I hoped for was saved by twitter. I’m a happy camper tonight. :)

Waiting for results out west…

I thought last night’s show was just so-so. No one really stood out, imo, unless you want to count Adam’s platinum blond dye job. I thought it was really strange how Pharrell and Gwen nonchalantly got introduced as new judges for next season. I’m thinking WHAT???

I thought Josh was amazing last night.

I’m assuming they are replacing Usher and Shakira in what are apparently the black and blonde seats. (Reminds me of the SCOTUS.
) Or are they expanding the judges to 6?

Last night was the first time I actually cared about whether a contestant would move on. I am a country fan to a certain extent and I loved Jake’s performance last night. I think America got it right tonight.

Jake is my other favorite.

I am SO glad not to have to hear Audra and Sisaundra screaming any more.

I think I was happiest for Shakira - lol Even though I think her singer is the worst. It’s really a toss up, but I thought Josh killed it last night singing one of my all time faves.

Audra seemed to be getting progressively worse each week since her blind audition. I think we’re all in agreement that Sisaundra should go and shouldn’t have made it this far. Hoping Kat goes next, just like many of you. She seems to have 9 lives. Thought Jake was the most improved from the previous week. Love Christina and Josh’s tone of voice but there’s a disconnect with the audience. Thought Usher’s coaching of Josh was great and hopefully he will keep improving his performances.

I think Kat is very good at what she does, but what she does best is not ideally suited to The Voice. Her voice is not one that that is instantly recognizable, which is what I think is needed. I like Kristin, and I liked the song she did this week a lot. If she has a flaw, I think it is that the kind of songs she sings are ones where the words are very important, and sometimes she blurs them too much.

Is it just me, or are the coaches cheerleading for their own team and dissing the competition?

Based on tonight’s performances, I’d put Josh, Jake & Kristen in the final 3 (and I don’t even listen to country). I’ve never like Kat, and I think Christine did poorly tonight with the song choices.

I haven’t been able to watch since the very beginning of the season until tonight and I was not impressed generally and was particularly disappointed in Jake and Christina.

It is my royal screw up, but I stick to it … says Blondie Adam. He could have not done more to sabotage Christina or helped Kat showcase her mediocrity. Adam was better last year, but he is doing it again with horrible song choices.

Why is Adam blonde?

That’s the real question.

My man, Josh Kaufman, better win.

Just saw Kat’s performance. (I’m on the west coast.) What was that? This was her worst performance, imo.

Josh and Kristin were very good, as usual.
