Agree with moonchild, Kat Perkins wasn’t percolating tonight and (hopefully) has run out of lives. For the life of me I do not understand how she gets such lavish praise from the other judges. Singing Frozen Let It Go was the absolute worst song choice of the entire season, followed by Kat’s first song, so I second what xiggi said about coach Adam. He “overthinks” when selecting songs for his team. Idina Menzel is like Adele… steer clear of their songs!

Josh’s 2nd song by One Republic was his best performance of the season, imo.

I also agree with moonchild about Kristen. She had a great night!

Adam needs to let Chrisina pick her own songs next week, if she’s still around. Adam loses Kat for sure and quite possibly he also loses Christina with those poor song choices.

Only 3 move on into the finals next week. I’m hoping they are Josh and Kristen, and don’t have a clear preference between Jake or Christina.

I’m hoping for Josh, Kristen and Christina. Jake has a lot of promise, but I can’t really see him being the #1 winner in the way I could see it as a possibility for any of the other three. He doesn’t have the emotional range yet, imo, probably due to age. I also see the other three as being unique, and I don’t see that so much with Jake.

I’d like the final three to be Josh, Jake, and either Kristen or Christina, with Josh winning, because A) he is clearly the best, and B) I think he needs this more than the others to have an independent career. I think Jake is going to have a career in country no matter what, Kristen is going to be the Ellen deGeneres of country on some scale, and Christina is young enough to continue to develop a following.

I agree that Adam has fallen back into song choice hell, although I actually liked Kat’s rendition of Let it Go. Kat needs to sing with a rock band, preferably the kind that has multiple lead singers to lend variety, like Fleetwood Mac or Jefferson Airplane/Starship.

I liked Kat’s version of Let It Go as much as I like Menzel’s but Menzel’s version is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me so that’s not saying a whole lot. I think I prefer the screaming goats version.

I think this season its wide open, as I don’t see a clear-cut favorite as we had with Danielle Bradberry. In her case, I thought she was by far and away the best singer, and it appeared to me that her vocal ability was effortless. This season I don’t see anyone who projects that image, even though all of the remaining contestants are remarkably talented. If I had to make a guess it would be that it comes down to Josh or Christina, and between them I would guess that Josh might win. He has a decently appealing story and background, and his personality is also appealing. His voice is a little quirky, so the song selection is important.

I don’t see Kristen or Kat winning, but Kat surprises me with her performances. I think her fundamental talent might be a bit higher than one might think. Jake is good on the songs he’s good at, but he has his limits. If Jake wins it will be because of a disproportionate country audience, I believe (and I like country music).

Kat was easily the worst. The best individual performances were from Josh and Jake. Jake should take the CW votes because Kristen missed on Miranda song by a fair margin. Heaven should save Jake. And, while Christina has been great in past weeks, it will be hard for her to emerge. Again, the extent of Adam’s lunacy is hard to understand, and his moronic rants are getting really old. He is repeating his worst performances when he screwed up some of the best vocalists with silly tricks. Watching Christina And Kat last night was painful.

Time for a break, Adam? Fwiw, I am not looking forward to the next version of the show. Might end a la Xfactor soon!

I downloaded Kristen’s Foolish Games last night. It’s quite beautiful. The subtleties in her voice come through so much better in the studio version than it did last night with all of the visual distraction and poor sound mixing.

I was surprised to see Jake doing so well on the charts as I didn’t feel either of his performances were that special. I just don’t hear enough variety in his tone or feel his range is very wide.
I think Josh will win, although a definitive " best" still has more to do with taste and preference, at this point. Each of the final three will benefit from the exposure they’ve received, so who actually wins may not matter that much, career-wise. The final three will all be winners.
Kat will go, but who the other one will be is the tough call.

I thought Kat’s performance tonight was best of the three, but I can’t argue with the result. Kristin blew it tonight. Blown Away is not a song you smile through. (And I really detest that Miranda Lambert song she sang last night.)

Bleh. I still don’t get the Christina Grimmie love. She has a very nice head voice, but when she tries to belt, it’s just a high school talent show screech that I’d like to get a restraining order against. It seems that the young’uns will scream over (and vote for) anyone who holds a loud note for a long time, no matter how bad it sounds.

My D has sung “Foolish Games” many times and was convinced that Kristin was flat throughout. I had thought something seemed off when I heard her sing, but didn’t realize what the problem was until it was explained to me.

I was disappointed to see that Tessane Chin hasn’t updated her styling. Her look is so dated and she ends up appearing a good 10-15 years older than she is. It worked for Adele, but I don’t know if lightning can strike twice. I did like her new single, though.

I’m a little disappointed but not surprised by the result, but I think the exposure they each have received will only serve them well.
Rooting for Josh for the win.

What a difference a night makes… Like Consolation said, Kristen was just awful tonight! I also agree that Kat had the best performance of the bottom 3 singers.

If it comes down to talent next week, Josh wins. But Jake scores the highest in the likeability index.

I wonder how Kristen can be off tune like that? If the ear piece is broke, can they not hear their own voice and how it is flat or sharp? Or if you are nervous, do your vocal chords tense IP and you can’t stay in tune as easily? I like her personality and her style is unique, especially for country, so I was disappointed that she didn’t have great performances this week.

Josh does have a great voice, no question. I don’t love his hat, and he certainly is not as easy on the eyes as some others, but he absolutely nailed that John Legend song, and I adore John Legend’s voice. His voice needs to be recorded.

Kat has a great rocker voice, but she seems to be better at covers than doing something totally original.

Christina has grown on me, even though she over uses the vocal gymnastics she is capable of displaying. She doesn’t need to belt/screech so much for sure. However, she is unique, and her talent seems boundless; with the right guidance she will have a great career. Speaking of young belters, the young girl from last season did not impress me … I think she is trying to do a songs that requires a lot more life experience as well as voice maturity.

Regarding the Twitter save, how does the west side of the country participate since the shows are live for the east side? Is there a live online feed that those wanting to see what’s happening can watch? Do the west coast fans just follow Twitter and vote for their favorite regardless of performance?

West coasters are basically left out of the twitter madness unless they happen to be tuned in and waiting to vote for their favorite, without seeing the performance. Another unfair aspect is that you can keep re-twittering as many times as you wants when the voting starts. It’s really a silly way to determine a save, especially when they have the data for the previous day’s national voting. It also favors those with large previous fan bases, like Christina’s You Tube fans.

What is it that is dated about Tessanne’s look? Her clothes? Her hairstyle - pompadour mohawk/quiff - was trendier a couple of years ago but that seems pretty recent to be called dated.
