Is "The Voice" Your New Vice?

Am I correct that Adam somehow got Justin Bieber to tweet for Christina, whereupon some number of Bieber’s zillions of dutiful Twitter followers were able re-tweet for her regardless of whether they had ever heard her sing or even watched the show? And that would mean “America’s” vote, which may have put Christina in last place for all we know, could have been completely trumped by a bunch Bieber fans? What??? The show really needs to dispense with the Twitter save, especially in a case like this, where it got hauled out unexpectedly at a point in the competition when it appeared the producers’ favorite had performed badly. The opportunity for manipulation by producers and judges is just too great.

Am I the only one who thinks Jake is the winner?

I loved Jake just now-so much emotion and nuance in that song for such a young guy.

I love Jake, but Josh is just too amazing a singer to not win.

Blake and Jake are singing A Country Boy Can Survive right now, and it does NOT suit Jake at all, IMHO. I’d call it his first poor performance.

It’d be nice to see Jake get all the CW votes and beat the other two. The cheerleading of Adam and Usher!s after the Adele song was really off putting. I do not think there is a clear favorite and without the nutty tweets saves, it will be a toss up.

I tuned in late and only saw Jake singing with Blake, Christina’s Elvis and Josh’s Adele. Jake was awful on that song. It didn’t help that he was in direct comparison with Blake. I hope his solo performances were better because I really like him. I liked Christina a lot. For the first time, I thought Josh kinda got lost in the flames and production. I was distracted by the tablecloth on the piano and kept thinking someone would be playing it. Why else have a piano on the stage? From just those three performances, I think Christina should win it.

I thought it would be between Christina and Josh, but Im not so sure now. If the “pop” vote is split and less than double the “country” vote, you could see Jake win.

I think I’m picking Christina. To non-expert me, her voice is more versatile and ecumenical, compared to the other two. Both Josh and Jake have their own talents, and both have appealing “nice guy” qualities that perhaps Christina doesn’t have as much. I guess I won’t be surprised no matter who it turns out to be.

Ever since MommaJ said Christina “had a very nice head voice”, I can not seem to appreciate her (Christina, not you MommaJ!) as much. I thought Josh’s 2nd song last night was great, but didn’t love his songs 1 and 3. I liked Jake’s first song, but not the others. Christina was perhaps the most consistent with all the finalists but nothing memorable for me in her solos. Her duet with Adam was her strongest of the 3, imo.

The ONE performance I enjoyed the most last night was Usher and Adam’s duet!

I was kind of hoping that Usher or Shakira would win so I wouldn’t have to listen to the Blake/Adam silliness, but seems unlikely now. I’m pulling for Josh, but agree that Christina was really good last night.

The one positive thing I’m taking from the finale is that The Voice’s theoretical mission of rewarding talent over looks has certainly been achieved this season. I find Jake’s appearance kind of repellent, while Josh is a cute ■■■■■ and Christina has an unfortunate natural bitchface when she’s not smiling. This was not the case for the last three seasons, when pretty women won. So, um, hooray for that?

I don’t know if Christina just hasn’t had adequate training to improve her belt or just doesn’t have it in her. I’m sure she must feel she has to throw a long-held belt into every song because that’s what get the screams from the silly live audience, but she’s bad at it, and it ruins every performance. I think it’s important for every singer to be aware of their strengths and weaknesses and avoid the latter. There are plenty of singers who can’t belt and choose a style of singing that doesn’t require it. Right now, I’m thinking her first album should be entitled “Kneel and Screech”.

Last night Josh was ill-served by song selection and by overproduction and poor coaching (Usher telling him to ignore singing in tune and just show emotion) in the last performance, but I think he has an amazing talent and hope he finds his way to a good career after this–something not even the winners of The Voice have necessarily been able to achieve.

When pretty women won?

A ver nice looking woman won three seasons ago, a very cute girl precluded an ugly duckling to steal it two seasons ago, and then came last year! It must be in the eye of the beholder to call the last winner pretty. Perhaps the lovers of the style of several decades ago might disagree. ;)

I don’t like her styling choices, but I think Tessane Chin is attractive, plus her mixed heritage gives her some exotic appeal, so I think “pretty” applies–not gorgeous, but pretty. See a better styled version here:<a href=“Glad bag buss fi Tessanne | Letters | Jamaica Gleaner”>http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/20130927/letters/letters3.html</a> and how she looked on her wedding day: <a href=“'The Voice’ Season 5 Winner Tessanne Chin Had A Secret Marriage PLUS Other Things About The Newly-Crowned Songstress | KpopStarz”>'The Voice’ Season 5 Winner Tessanne Chin Had A Secret Marriage PLUS Other Things About The Newly-Crowned Songstress | KpopStarz;

American Idol finale and The Voice finale are on opposite each other?? Really???

^^ AND opposite the ACM (country music) awards, too!

“Right now, I’m thinking her first album should be entitled “Kneel and Screech”.”
I agree 100%. I just don’t understand why people think yelling long and loud is singing. I am a lover of tone, control, and … dare I mention it? … PITCH. Christina was fine on her last song last night, but overall I just do not care for her. I thought Josh sounded awful on the Adele song. That leaves Jake, I guess — not a superstar, but he has a pleasant voice. He seems like a really great guy, not that that has anything to do with singing. I think he has a good chance to do well in country (not that I know all that much about country). I think 'merica is going to put Christina in the winner’s circle, though.

And opposite DWTS.

First hour of The Voice was a replay of last night’s show. Thats what was against Idol and DWTS.

Good for Josh. Nice.

Josh was pretty good overall. Jake is probably the moral winner as Josh Adele glitch probably helped the final result. All in all, it is hard to find faults in the final ranking. And, again, nice that Adam did not win!

Very satisfying results! Not only did Adam not win, but the winner was a contestant he gave up. Now I hope that Josh manages to have a more successful career than the other male winners of The Voice, though I’m not holding my breath.
