Is there a way I can take computer science?

I would really like to take computer science but my high school doesn’t offer it. What should I do?

Take Programming and Intro to CS courses at a local CC…
but since all they really teach are the basics of a programming language…

There are thousands of resources on the internet.

I wouldn’t bother with a local CC. Find some tutorials for basic programming (I recommend [Cprogramming.com - Programming Tutorials: C++ Made Easy and C Made Easy](C, C++ Programming Tutorials - Cprogramming.com)), and then practice programming problem solving at either Project Euler or usaco.org.

Try Hackety Hack, an intro programming tutorial in Ruby: [Hackety Hack!](http://hackety-hack.com/)

Google “Stanford engineering everywhere”.
