I’m planning to take 17 credits this semester so I can finally finish my community college AA and start at a new school in January.
My classes are:
BSC 1010 w lab
CHM1025 w lab
Precalculus
music appreciation
statistics

I’m not working, but 45 hours per week I take care of my 8 month old until her dad gets home from work. These are the last classes I need to graduate, so I’m hopeful that I can finish this semester. This summer I took 12 credits and did fine, so maybe 17 will be fine over a longer semester?

You should be fine.

The science classes with labs are usually time consuming, but easy.
The math could go either way but is generally considered easy for an average college student.
Music appreciation is almost universally considered easy.

15 credits is considered normal. So this is heavy but doable. 12 credits over the summer is usually considered harder.

It can be done and is realistic. Music will be easy, but math generally varies from person to person. Haven’t ever heard of anyone having trouble with a science lab so you’ll probably be fine. 17 credits isn’t average by any means but if you put in the time and effort you’ll do fine.

That’s good to know, I wasn’t sure how 12 credits over the summer compared to 17 credits over a regular semester. I had trig this summer and math doesn’t come easy to me. But, in all fairness I was out of school for ten years so I had to re-teach myself basic stuff like dividing fractions before I could even start to understand trig. Even so, I spent around 220 hours on the homework for my trig class to get an A. I really hope that pre-calc will be easier just because I won’t have to relearn all the stuff before it.
