<p>I applied to several selective schools, and my dream school is WUSTL. However my stats are REALLY low. I’m almost near 100% sure that I’m going to get rejected from all my schools, and end up going to my local state school. </p>
<p>The thing is, my state school has automatic admissions. As long as I don’t fail a class I’m in based on my stats. </p>
<p>I don’t want to stay up all night chasing As or the highest grade possible. I just want to do the bare minimum to pass and actually enjoy life for once.</p>
<p>“really LOW” is quite a subjective term. I think you’ve been living on CC for way too long; it’s muddled your point of view. If you want, post some general stats that you think are “low” to discuss them, and let us boost your confidence up a little and tweak your reality.</p>
<p>I see what you mean, it’s pessimism. Sometimes I just lose all hope and it just makes me not want to apply to my three last schools (CMU, Cornell, and Duke.)
Anyone, I did find a cure to this: Music. Every time I get down I just listen to Number One(Bleach). Just play whatever inspires you and your motivation will return in no time.</p>
<p>EDIT: And I agree with ChewyDog. CC is full of valedictorians with 15+ APs and 2100+ SATs. They represent only a tiny percentage of the general population.</p>
<p>I don’t think things are really that bad for you. There are a lot of schools you could get into, they just aren’t the ones that people talk about a lot here. There are plenty of OOS publics that would take you, if you don’t want to stay home. Or you could go to a community college, work really hard, and transfer out with a really high GPA. So don’t get discouraged. It’s NOT the end of the world if you don’t get into your first choice school. Your test scores show you have a lot of potential, you just need to apply yourself!</p>

<p>Firstly, you are an URM with substantial ECs, a great ACT for a student in Oklahoma, and very high SAT IIs even by CC standards. The only problem is your GPA/rank.</p>
<p>Rather than getting heart-set on such selective schools, aim for the middle ground. I realize that spending so much time on CC makes you dream in Ivy, but there are brilliant schools in between Oklahoma State and WUSTL. </p>
<p>You should probably repost your stats in the college search and selection forum and have the senior members suggest some matches. It is not reach or broke for you.</p>
<p>Looking at your old thread, methinks you are in a very peculiar situation. On one hand, you are a URM from OK, and your ACT and SAT II scores are solid. On the other, we have your GPA, which you apparently have addressed in essays and letters of recommendation. Reality states that you are likely to be rejected from some of the most selective schools that you apply to, as you have realized. However, if you play your cards correctly, things can still go in your favor. Just make sure to work extra hard on your essays and express a higher, clearer understanding of life through whatever you have gone through without using family issues as an excuse. Unfortunately, while I can offer to skim your essay(s) and provide general comments, I do not have enough time now to give you thorough feedback. Don’t ever be 100% sure that you will be rejected at x and y colleges, and try to apply to a few more “lower tiered” schools. CWRU, GW, and Emory are good, but try a few more and do some “for the heck of it.” I’m serious. Check out some schools of different sizes and such via US News Rankings (if you really care about prestige), and pick a few more. Since I’m most familiar with the Caltech EA thread, I can point to some really interesting turnouts on there, where CCers with really high stats were turned away in favor of others. Show the world that you are awesome and can take it on, and the world will respond in some ways that will pleasantly surprise you.</p>
<p>your stats don’t look all that horrible to me. as long as you explained your family issues on the apps, it sounds like you’ll be fine. you’ve got some pretty good stuff on there.</p>
