hi, I’m from Hong Kong and I’d know if UCLA’s business school (or just the school itself) is competitive?
well I’m waiting for the release of my SAT results so I dunno abt it yet, but I guess it’ll only be abt 1900

I think your SAT’s might fall a little below its average. I also know that UC’s don’t accept a lot of non-Californian residents, or SOMETHING to that like. Do you require financial aid? I’m unsure whether the UC’s give int’l finaid. UCLA is a hard school, but Berkeley and San Diego is getting up there, too.

The problem for you is that you are international and not a cali resident so that makes your chances very difficult. The UC’s don’t give AID for International Students.

what if I dun need an aid?

still not too good. Why don’t you look at some private schools like LACs?

I can only afford public schools

First of all, you can’t enter UCLA’s business school as an undergrad. Your best bet is to study biz-econ or econ in the College of Letters and Science. Secondly, if you factor in how much UCLA is going to cost an an international student, you might find that privates will costs you LESS in the long run.

Why? Because they like to give out financial aid. Privates tend to have deeper pockets. Consider that.

And about competition: Biz-econ is VERY competitive. It’s cutthroat, to be more accurate.

As far as the campus goes, you can’t really generalize. Engineering is incredibly competitive, whereas Romanian Languages as a department is not. It all depends.
