Im an American, but I was wondering what Canadians think of UCLA? Is it seen as a smart school? prestigious?

Most Canadians don’t know what schools are considered prestigious aside from maybe Harvard and Yale.

^ That’s not a fair statement.

Yes, UCLA is prestigious and well-known in Canada (as well as Berkeley). That’s likely the limitation on undergraduate prestige in Canada in terms of the University of California system.

I’m going to agree with Damon3. I’ve never heard anyone mention UCLA before, outside of this forum; it might be different at private schools or in eastern Canada, however. Did you hear anything about UCLA while you took classes in Canada, MorningAngel? That might give you a bit better of an idea of what (some) Canadians think.

You’ve brought it up a few times – why is it important to you that your school be considered prestigious abroad? The people who’ll need to know your school is well-ranked will (i.e. graduate admissions), and where you got your degree doesn’t matter much otherwise, compared to how and what you did while you were there.
