Is UVA-wise A Part of UVA?

I came across UVA-Wise and mistook it originally for UVA. Are they affiliated with each other? If not, why is it called “UVA”? Very misleading…

It’s not misleading. It’s a public college established by UVA in Wise.

Depending on the reason as to why you are asking, I’d consider it a separate school entirely. In the greater collegiate world, the only meaningful affiliation is automatic cross-enrollment priveleges, which, as far as I know, these colleges do not share.

Some students use UVa Wise as a place to transfer to uva but I don’t think there’s a direct partnership agreement. The two schools are very different in size, level, culture…

This usually helps: Both schools have the same President and same Board, but everything else is separate.
