In italy we have marks on a scale from 1 to 10, how can i convert all of my marks to gpa?

Ciao !

Have you already sat for the "Maturit

I am in the third year of my five years of italian high school. So i will show my italian marks, during the fifth year. I knew that i have to do this calculus (average:10)x4, but i am not sure.

Usually top grade is an 8. Convert this to 4 point school. Have your teacher explain it.

DO NOT CONVERT YOUR GRADES unless explicitly instructed otherwise.

Colleges will decide for themselves how they want to treat Italian grades, so that all Italian grades get converted uniformly. It doesn’t help if 10 Italian applicants convert their grades using 10 different methods.

Also, there’s a good chance that you would actually hurt yourself by converting your Italian marks to much lower American “equivalents”. The median GPA of college-bound high school students in the US might be 3.6. That would correspond to a 9 average using your formula. The top 10% have a 3.95+ GPA, or an almost perfect string of 10s. Does this sound like the grade distribution at your school? If not, you probably don’t want to convert your grades this way.

My son is an athlete. We did it like this, upon a coach’s suggestion, and every ivy school said he passed the acdemic test for all ivy schools before accepting one of the big three. But hey, why should recent relevant experience count?
