I’ve been a silent reader here for a couple months but have never posted here until today.</p>
<p>I got my admitted letter today! </p>
<p>Uhm, since it’s my first time here I assume you’ll want my stats. :P</p>
<p>Lets see:
Female
GPA: 3.83, 3.94 weighted
3 AP Classes
Class rank is 34/313
ACT: 26 
2nd gen. college kid
I am president of 4 major clubs but active in a total of 6…
And 200+ Volunteer hours… Hopefully that will get me a scholarship! :)</p>

<p>I am still very curious about the posting stating that ohio state deferred someone with competitive stats yesterday. Why would OSU defer a competitive candidate at this point - before the main February 1st deadline? It doesn’t make sense.
I would think that only those with D’s, F’s would end up in that situation right now</p>

<p>But they also admitted a 26 ACT yesterday (another person on this thread), too, so that is good news.</p>
<p>If you are a 23-24 and haven’t been deferred that is also good news. Fax them to let them know supplemental information of importance is coming and ask that any decision be held until that information is received.</p>

<p>@caolila That person i was talking about had a 24 and a 3.4 gpa not exactly competitve but still deferrals are still coming out. By the way are you going to change to a different starting term for osu if you get deferred?</p>

<p>to mbusa…i know someone last year with the exact same stats who was deferred and didnt get in. and for people who get deferred…theres like a pretty good chance of being accepted i think…if you show you improved either a test score or really good grades for senior year youd probably get accepted.</p>

<p>I think the folks at risk for deferral will be those around 24, especially if gpa isn’t high. Doing some research online it seems like OSU is driven a lot by national test scores. They aren’t everything, but it helps a lot, plus class rank. They will want the ‘reported’ indicators to increase from last year, if possible.</p>
<p>I’m a first year OSU student already, just hanging out lending a hand. I was deferred last year with a 29 ACT. So I have a lot of empathy for those in the cc forum.</p>
