It's National Coffee Day - what kind of you drinking?

<p>My favorite coffee is Ronnoco, which is actually a restaurant coffee. I buy it when I can find it.</p>

<p>When I don’t have Ronnoco, I drink what they have at my store: Millstone. It’s pretty good. I like their Vanilla Nut Cream, which sounds disgusting, but tastes good. </p>

<p>I used to grind, and I didn’t mind the noise, but I honestly didn’t notice any difference in flavor. I guess my palate is too crude. But I luuuvvvvvs me my coffee.</p>

<p>I guess I drink my coffee medium strength, maybe even a little on the weak side.</p>

<p>However, my in-laws drank it so strong the spoon would stand up straight in the cup. Not only that, but they would save their coffee sitting cold in the pot from one day to the next, and drink it till it was gone. That is why they were the Greatest Generation–because they were tough as barbed wire.</p>

<p>Even though I’m averse to coffee I did bring back several bags of coffee from Columbia when I was on a trip there once and gave the coffee to people when I got back. According to them it was good. I don’t know if Juan Valdez personally picked it or not.</p>

<p>I thought sure customs would check me extra closely given that I was bringing back something like this (in rather generic looking burlap type bags) from Columbia but I breezed through.</p>

<p>^^ A weird fact - there are no Dunkin Donut outlets in California! There used to be but they pulled out for some reason.</p>

<p>They sell the DD coffee packages in grocery stores I think, but there are no actual DD stores.</p>

<p>I scored a 5 lb whole bean bag of “Seattle’s Best” during the closeout sale at our local Borders Books. It is labeled “#2”, which the clerk told me meant light roast. It was only $15, but the taste is very bland and I don’t look forward to drinking it for several more weeks. Moral of the story, never compromise on coffee beans! I usually buy the Columbian beans from Trader Joe’s, the one with the large Toucan on the front.</p>

<p>World Market (Cost Plus) Costa Rican Tarrazu currently. When we moved to Indiana from the Bay Area we ordered Peets, but the prices and quality is great at Cost Plus.</p>

<p>My treat today was a Dunkin Donuts pumpkin spice coffee…YUM…tastes like pumpkin pie.</p>

<p>My D is home for a few days, and she made me coffee … she is a “coffee master” … certified by Starbucks. The coffee was good, but the company was better! :)</p>

<p>I can barely drink commercial coffee anymore now that H makes it for me every day.</p>

<p>I boil water in my 2 quart pot (so he and the kids can have tea, too). I take out a large plastic Ikea cup, a strainer and a paper towel, along with the coffee. I like Dunkin’ Donuts french vanilla or Maxwell House. Add coffee to strainer, pour water over it. Fill small frying pan with ice, pour hot coffee into small bowl, place in pan. Then put entire mix into blender with more ice. I add splenda and half and half to taste.</p>

<p>I can’t drink any other coffee any more.</p>

<p>As for Starbucks, I hate it; I can’t even walk into the place without wanting to gag.</p>

<p>Didn’t find out about it being National Coffee Day until late last night! Starbucks French Roast, bought in 2.5 lb bags at Costco. Both H & I drink it straight and strong.</p>

<p>My DH travels a lot for work, ans brings me back the coffee packs form the hotel so I can have my morning cup without making a mess. I’ll go have a starbucks (will report back what flavor)</p>

<p>The world most expensive coffee… $695.00 USD/lb in a local coffe shop or $50/12 oz/cup. About $150/lb directly from Indonesia, even at that price we cannot afford it. So we buy a lb and have one cup every two weeks or so. :)</p>

<p>The smell and taste of Luwak is super.</p>
