It's National Coffee Day - what kind of you drinking?

Just wondering why passing through a monkey would make the coffee taste better…

I don’t drink coffee, but DW can’t start a day without it. Where she grew up, since coffee was expensive, they would add chicory to make it cheaper. The result is she still fancies chicory for its flavor, and the irony was for a while I was paying more than coffee to get it shipped from New Orleans.

OK, now I’m intrigued enough to go get the facts!

This IS the kopi luwak coffee mentioned above, it’s a civet cat, not a monkey, and it is Indonesia, not Kenya. Her son was in Africa so I thought that’s where he got the coffee. He travels a LOT.

I don’t think I’d pay that much for a cup of coffee, esp. after knowing where it’s been!

For 50 cents, they would just have wiped it on a Charmin. For 30 bucks most of its history is purged? But then it you look at organic fruits and vegetables, what are generally used as fertilizer?

Kopi Luwak coffee - wasn’t this on an old Seinfeld episode?

I defintely would not pay that much for a crap of coffee.

dudedad: Zing! :D
