IU Early Action Acceptances - Class of 2025

Same, we have the event on Saturday too

Now that a swag box is being mentioned, I’m regretting my decision of not signing up for DA day.

Well congrats on getting in. Wasn’t convinced a virtual DA day was even worth it…

Did your student apply to both Luddy and Lugar? I was under the impression you could only get 1 direct admit…the common app only let my student chose one school to apply to even though he wants to do a double degree/double major.

She is in the cybersecurity & global policy degree program. It is a joint venture between the two schools (Luddy and Hamilton Lugar), and as a result, all of the students who were direct admits to this program are, by default, direct admits to the two schools. She will have an academic advisor in each school to help coordinate the requirements from each school the degree.

Once your son gets on campus and meets with the academic advisor in the school where he was a direct admit, he can discuss his desire to double major or minor in a program in another school. They will help him with the logistics at that time.

Got it! Congratulation to her. I was hoping he could apply for direct admit to the 2nd school to get more financial aid

Does the Media School do a direct admit day? Could ask DD but once again, she’s in bed and I’m…waiting to put laundry in the dryer.

Was anyone else’s first name wrong on the Kelley Direct Admit Day
swag box? Our last name and address was correct, but not first name.

Mine was his nickname not his full name. I think it was asked on his common app

For those Kelley DAs getting swag boxes, are you signed up for one of the Feb dates? I am signed up for the March date and haven’t received a swag box…just wondering.

Yes. Signed up for tomorrow. Box came about a week ago for my daughter.

Yes. They sent around an email this week apologizing for the problem

Yes we have for tomorrow, got the box this week

Be sure to give a full report. My son is attending next weekend’s session.

And for those of us who completely missed the window :frowning:

My son applied to IU only because of the business school (we are on the west coast/not a school a lot of people talk about), but he missed a couple important details - that you should apply early action for business school and to maximize merit aid (his application was ready in time but was waiting on an optional teacher recommendation) and that you had to appeal for business school if you didn’t have certain stats (he easily had the grades but it was very difficult to take the SAT in our area due to virus/had to travel far and since most schools test optional was not worth the unpredictability and risks of travel). Lesson learned to research each option fully (but happy he did so much independently of us). He has and will have lots of great options, but I think it would have been cool to explore a school farther away (all his other schools are West Coast). He is accepted into the school but don’t think he will consider w/o business direct admit.

The “window” to which I was referring was to sign up for the Kelley direct admit days, which my son didn’t act upon before they filled up. That said, I have empathy for your son for missing out on the Kelley opportunities, the college search is challenging and every school has different rules. Indiana in particular we learned has been a multi-faceted situation where you have to be on top of a lot of things.

I was not home but from the monosyllabic grunts I typically get from my son I did get texts saying “liked the sample class” and “definitely more interested in Indiana”. I’ll get more out of him tomorrow

Was very impressed with the virtual day for Kelley direct admits. Wasn’t sure how they would hold the viewers interest for 2 hours but they didn’t nice job. Nice mix with the Dean’s address, short videos explaining support services, and the sample lecture. As a parent I became excited about Indiana as an option for my daughter.
