IU Early Action Acceptances - Class of 2025

the parent email I got about DA day didn’t have a deadline, but son’s many emails did. I’m sure if he had paid attention to the swag box, he would have made the deadline. LOL! Lesson learned.

Hey guys! I am proud to say that I am a direct-admit to both the Wisconsin School of Business and IU Kelley. Where does Wisc Buis fall in comparison to Kelley? Is one better than the other? Although they’re neck and neck, I will most likely attend the better business school. Please let me know, I am honestly torn! Thanks all!

Better is subjective. Ranking does not mean better. You can rank a school but each major is different. They are two great names. Which do u like better, do u feel a spark at ? That’s what u should choose. Not what us news or poets Abd quants says is better

Also the one that’s less expensive is always a smart option

Some other differentiators:

  • Look at the curriculums for both schools and see which one looks more interesting-that is what you’ll be doing for 4 years, if there are things in there not appealing to you, you should consider that.
  • Download the career outcome reports for both schools (they both have them) and compare employment outcomes, including your targeted career choice (which will probably change btw)
  • Like the last poster said, rankings only get you so far, you need to get a feel for both schools and pick one based on your gut. I know that’s difficult in the current environment but you should get as much info as possible to assist you in your decision.

Great choices to have (my son is also deciding between them) good luck!!

Thanks, guys! I will do my research…

This may be a dumb question but the IU portal is confusing. How do you accept your offer of enrollment?

Thank you!

Greetings from Texas! New to the this forum so it took me a minute to figure out how to post. LOL! I apologize if this question has already been asked, but how is everyone handling visiting IU since they aren’t doing tours? I emailed the admissions office and they don’t have a date on when and if they will do before May. Before booking a flight from Dallas there I was hoping to see how everyone is handling. My daughter was admitted and this is one of her top schools, we received some merit and she applied for other aid (not sure which one). I realize a walking tour doesn’t compare to an actual tour but we do really want to see the campus.

SAME! So frustrated with the loans posing as merit or aid. It isn’t. It’s a loan. They shouldn’t call it aid as though it’s from the university.

It’s a shame they aren’t doing any tours for admitted students. They could keep them small. We went on an admitted student tour at Miami (OH) and there was our family and one other with our guide. In fact, the registration lady was a little miffed that we had our younger child with us as they had limited registration to student+2. There was room though.

Maybe they should record a tour like at art exhibits. That is just as good except you cannot ask questions.

We self-toured 2 schools over the summer. One my son loved despite not having a guide. One he wasn’t feeling from the get-go.

It seems like a lot of time and expense to go visit during COVID, but it may give your child all the feels and be perfect. Good luck!

Is it too late for him to petition for DA to Kelly?

I told him he could try, but I think he wouldn’t feel comfortable doing that unless it was his for sure first choice. He would have been comfortable doing the normal petition in the timeframe described on the business school website had he done his homework. I’m not surprised he missed it - it is very different than every other business school he applied to. UC Berkeley e-mailed him asking for an essay after the application was submitted. All the others did not have all these special minimum GPA/test score or petition rules or special essays (Michigan did but he decided not to apply there). He applied to a lot of schools due to the Covid unknowns and test optional and this is one of the disadvantages to applying to a lot of schools

I submitted a petition yesterday for Kelley, is there still a good chance I can be accepted, 3.77 with no test scores but upward trend each year in gpa.

u have a good chance but it’s going to be tricky submitting after priority to get into kelley, good luck tho

What would be the best way to find out which AP exams could provide credit at Kelley? Considering dropping some for my son as the dates are getting pushed back to June after graduation.

Specifically Micro/Macro Econ and Environmental Science
