IU Kelley Petition Tracker 2024

Their due date Feb 1st. Is that true that they consider all the applications that they receive before Feb 1st to review the petition?

we just received an email in reply to this similar inquiry from local Admissions counselor:

ā€œIndiana is not a self reporting school so all grades need to be submitted from (student’s) high school… which I see just came in a few days ago. Typically, Kelley will not look at 7th semester grades (as the review process began prior to end of the 7th semester).ā€

Kelley is not going to officially accept the grades as an update to the transcript via the University. They will ask you if they want to see them. Which is a different question than can you get them in the hands of Kelley to maybe consider as another part of your application. Ask for official answers you will get official responses. If you want them in Kelley’s hands you will need to hope by going around the official process. Kelley is not going to prohibit you from sending an email.

Not asked is whether it’s a good idea. And maybe it’s a good time to say - no it’s not. AOs do not look favorably at individuals attempting to go around their process as many of us feel when people at our places of business do the same. Ask a teacher how they feel about students and parents emailing them about their grades after final grades are uploaded.

I don’t know what your question is asking to try to answer it helpfully.

If I’m pre-business and petitioned, but got selected for SSA, is that a good indication?

Its not a bad sign but being actually admitted is a better sign. Signs signs everywhere signs. Feel the lyrics and trust the process.

I was asking if they consider all the applications that were submitted before Feb 1st for review to admission to Kelly?

This made me LOL.

Yes Kelley considers all petitions filed by 2/1. It is not a traditional definition of ā€œrollingā€ admission to Kelley.

My son is applying to Kelley tomorrow without DA (test optional). University ID takes 5 days. Does it mean he will not get a chance to submit review request due to feb 1 deadline?

Has anyone received a negative answer from Kelley for the review petition?

Have him contact his AO and ask. Is there a reason he can’t submit the app today?

I haven’t received anything yet, is there a way to view the status of the review petition?

I do not believe Kelley would reject anyone prior to 2-1. But rejections will likely begin to be sent shortly for some. Ahead of most of the admits. The majority of rejections should be in the next 30 days-ish.

The Kelley AOs are trying to read out applications while at the same time responding to 1000 emails a day stating I’ve heard from Broad and Fisher and cannot wait for Kelley until April - maybe I can provide continuing interest, grades, and letters of rec and my varsity sport 3rd team all league award - can you provide me status please?

Is end of the day tomorrow the last day to submit Kelly petition?

With petitions closing today can we expect another batch of decisions soon?

Your greatest expectations of Kelley releases should be informed from prior years. So while it is always possible Kelley will release more ā€œsoonā€ it is the most likely that petition decisions will be released in earnest in early/mid March. I have heard nothing from Kelley indicating they plan to vary from prior practice. Kelley is going to deny 75% of the petitions - they will take their time to do that properly.

I could have sworn I read on IU / Kelley website that 65% of Direct Admit requests were accepted in previous year. It is possible I misread as I can’t seem to locate the stat via a quick search.

Could it be 65% of incoming Kelley classes are accepted thru the review process but only 25% of direct admit review request applicants are accepted? If so, what is the typical class size for incoming Kelley students each year?

Yes. It was stated in their site that 65% of petitions received a positive answer.

I don’t know where your data comes from and not discounting it - but both verbally from Kelley admissions and on the recent P&Q data Kelley shows around a 38% acceptance rate which is a combination of 100% acceptance rate of auto-direct kids and a roughly 25% acceptance rate of petitions. Numerically making up numbers - if 10,000 apps were received and 2000 were auto-admit, the admit of petitions would be 20% to get to the roughly 4000 for their yield curve. There are more apps and admits than this, but that’s just numbers.
