IU Kelley Petition Tracker 2024

Resharing timing from posts on last year’s thread:
End of Nov - some acceptance reported, primarily women applicants
End of Jan - acceptances / denials reported
End of Feb - acceptances / denials reported
Early March - denials / waitlist reported
April - acceptances from waitlist reported

I saw the link, it asks me for a username, I haven’t received any username from IU, just an id.

Those are not generally reported. Harvard overall is about 85% and Penn 65% as ideas of yield on the higher end. IU gets about 50-60% yield from those who attend DA days. You can extrapolate a 30-40% yield at a “top” school. But this includes unc and g tech and UT Austin which have specific in state admit requirements so yield is artificially higher there.

I think I missed the review deadline, can I ask them for an extension?

Do you have already an IU account? It was the first step necessary to send a review petition

I just made one, too late tho right?

It’s really good

Northwestern and Stanford do not have an undergrad business school…only graduate school such as Kellogg as you mentioned.

I got into Kelley today!

Hi everyone! My son applied early to IU, submitted his petition to Kelley on 10/21, was accepted to IU on 12/6, but is still waiting on the DA Kelley decision. He applied test optional, 4.0 unweighted and 4.5 weighted. We are oos (CA).

Just trying to plan our visits to the schools he’s been accepted to. ~Does anyone have an idea of when the early petitioners should hear by? I’m watching the flights go up the longer I wait lol

Thanks for any thoughts or “guesstimates!”

My son has auto admit stats, but attended two high schools and does not have a gpa printed on his transcript, so has to petition. He submitted the petition in September and was admitted to IU in November. He reached out and was told he will hear by April 14. We loved IU on an initial visit, but if he is admitted that late, we will struggle to revisit and make an apples to apples comparison against other compelling admits he already has in hand. I am hoping that he may be in a February admit batch, but the dragged out petition process has definitely softened his interest. I suspect it would rebound with good news, but we shall see.

Kelley Admissions says petition requests will receive a response by mid-April.

You mentioned flights. Indianapolis flights can be less expensive on weekdays vs weekends.
Also two one-ways can be better priced than a round trip, even two one-ways on different airlines.

Next closest airport is Louisville. Flights can be less expensive. Doubles the drive time to Btown: about a 90 min drive from campus vs. 40-45 from Indianapolis.

NBA events can impact Indy flights. Mid Feb brings the NBA All Star Game to Indy and March Madness games are next month.

And it does not seem to be based on when you submitted the petition. Kelley acceptances seem to be coming out in batches and will continue through April.
Acceptances so far have been skewed towards female applicants.

Congratulations on the Kelley admission!! Did the acceptance come to your daughter’s regular email account or the IU email account? Thanks so much for sharing her stats as well.

Empathy for sure to your feelings but respectfully this process is not dragged out. It is Feb 3rd. Harsh welcome to real world where process you can’t control happens. Cannot worry about what you cannot control. If it is 2 high schools as the only issue your applicant will 100% be admitted. West coast schools won’t admit anyone at all for 45-60 more days. It is very early in the process.

It is the first real world experience for most kids for sure. A good chance to remind them to not make long-term, big decisions based on short-term, small frustrations.
