IU Kelley Petition Tracker 2024

The 2 recent Kelley grads that spoke at DA day are both working in tech at EY. Yes, they graduated from Kelley but both did a tech club/workshop. You can look at Luddy School at IU. Or some do economics. You can do a minor in business also.

Thanks. Its not me my son is thinking different things on what could go wrong. He is still debating Penn State smeal with in state fees or take a chance with standard admit. He also got wait listed at UMich and telling he wants to go there if he gets in.

Got it. Thanks!

This is good detail. I will pass it on to my son.

Does anyone know if Kelley kids use PCs or MACs? And do you know if they use PowerPoint or Google slides in the business presentation course?

I recommend PC as they use Excel extensively and easier on PC

Thanks. I’m assuming Google slides is ok vs PowerPoint? Or do they need to learn PowerPoint?

Really not sure but they can access Microsoft Office applications through Kelley

My daughter (current Kelley DA freshman) has a Mac, and she has had no issues whatsoever. For her K201 class, which is Excel heavy, she sometimes goes to the computer lab in her dorm. I think whatever your child prefers is just fine for Kelley. And for Business Presentations, they work in Powerpoint.

Per the insiders, Kelley is seeking more women so understand their priority when applying for a petition or standard admit for your son. In theory it helped my D but it won’t help my son. All said I’m a big fan of ROI at in State schools.
Unfortunately my D did not take my advice and will be attending an expensive OOS business program. All the best everyone

Sorry to hear. Your sons’ stats and a rejection really surprises me. That 1420 equates to a 32 ACT and a 3.78 is a rounding error for the minimum requirement of 3.8 gpa.

My son received an email tonight at 5:30 letting him know he was a direct admit. He petitioned due to his SAT score.

I recently went to both a Kelley Direct admit day and then later to a red carpet day where there was a short Kelley presentation. This question came up both times, and the answer is that you do not have to be a Kelley direct admit to be selected to live in the JLLC dorm. In fact they save spots for non-Kelley kids too. So if you are going the standard admit route you can still live in the business living learning community and start to build a network and some bus opportunities that aren’t available to Kelley DAs who are not part of JLLC.

Hi! Can you clarify what you mean about Finite math being removed? Just want to be sure I understand the context. Thx!

@PadreHeath the JLLC for Kelley is in McNutt dorm. It is the largest dorm on campus with 700 rooms, most doubles, 6 buildings and a dining hall in the center. Some business students choose to apply to live together on certain floors, halls that happen to be in McNutt. I have a current sophomore that lived there (not business ). Really cool if freshman think they are in a special place for Kelley students ~ if that’s their mentality. But the reality of dorm life is its freshman away from home for the first time. McNutt is one of the craziest dorms, kids are in every major. Parties, noise…… Near the stadium and it’s a basic standard dorm. Nothing fancy or special ~ believe me! If there is extra Kelley bonding I’d be surprised!! My son was not Kelley, his roommate was pre business

My son also received an email tonight around 5:30 for direct admit. He had missed the SAT cut off by 10 points but had a 4.2 weighted GPA. His father also was a Kelly grad so maybe that had weight although I wouldn’t think so in today’s world. His friend received DA around the same time this evening.

This process has been super stressful and I wish everyone good luck. I personally think if they are up for the challenge our kiddos WILL have a successful career no matter where they go to business school.

Pretty sure it’s removed as a freshmen requirement for Kelley starting this year
