IU Kelley Petition Tracker 2024

@JamaJama what is removed?

It’s a giant party at McNutt! My current sophomore lived there freshman year. When I helped move him into his luxury rental as a sophomore he kept saying to me “you hear those “sirons “ yup. We heard them for 3 days. Kids are partying, going crazy without parents for the first time. Ending up at IU health. Police also shut down that quad

DD rejected last night while away on spring break. Had the GPA, but not the SAT, so petitioned for review in January. In-state, tons of leadership extracurriculars. I’m a Kelley alum, so it stings.

This is exactly what my son is doing! He is majoring in Sports Marketing & Management at the school of Public Health, and is minoring in Business. If his grades make the cut
he may flip them around and petition for Kelley next year. (He picked this route from the beginning - no Kelley petition)

These are the current Kelley standard admission requirements. Finite math (118) is not required prior to applying for Kelley standard admission as of Fall 2023. Previously it was required.

Are students able to place out of some of these if they scored well on AP exams and/or have credits from a college or university? Can placing out help some get in SA (reduced workload, etc?)

You would have to talk with IU reps to answer those questions.

Thanks for the additional background. We did tour McNutt at Kelley DA days, and there are non Kelley DA kids not just in McNutt (I believe they told us roughly 50% of McNutt is non JLLC) but literally in the JLLC who are living in floors designated for JLLC. Sounds like your kid is in the half plus of McNutt not in thr JLLC, but as I stated the JLLC also has students living on those floors who are not Kelley admits who are members of the JLLC. To me, this would be an attractive option as a standard admit trying to get over to Kelley (minus the fire alarms and excessive parties, hah ha).

Also the JLLC actually has offices, study spaces and a small classroom space in McNutt if I recall on ground or basement levels where they do some networking events, lunches etc. So there are some business activities going on there too for JLLC members. It’s more than just a vibe where business students hang out.

Another Wait list to report:
1450 SAT and 3.8 GPA // Kelly School of Business (Changed major from Arts & Sciences)

Does anyone know when to expect the waitlist? I know it says by may 10th but should we be expecting before signing day on may 1st at all or after?

Congratulations. We are still waiting to hear back. Seriously considering the standard admit route.

Congratulations :confetti_ball:

Good luck.

Very likely to be right at May 10. I wouldn’t expect huge waitlist positivity this year unless a lot of auto admits affirmatively decline prior to May 15.

Is this supposed to be a negative? Sounds amazing if I was 18.

Still waiting to hear back but today got some email to apply for scholarship. We did receive this earlier and not sure why we got them again. Those whose appeal got accepted did you receive an email or is this email sent out to most everyone?

Have you checked portal?

Yes. Portal still shows Pre-business.

No update yet on the appeal. Called Kelley AO and told we will hear back by Apr 14th.

S24 received it and he was denied admittance for Fall 2024.

Oh thats not promising then. Looks like your son and mine are in similar boat. His SAT is much higher but GPA is lower than your son’s.
Waitlisted in UMichigan and kelley SA route. He also has Penn State State Smeal with in state tution but he does not want to go there.
