I have the same question! I’ve signed up of the Leadership Challenge at Bradford Woods. They have special trip for transfer students. I think it woud be interesting. Anyone has ever joined IUBeginnings?

Any other IU mom’s out there?

My daughter is in the Community Plunge program this week.

I think this program is very worthwhile for these reasons:

She moved in before the rush, five days early
She has met 24 other young people who want to give back to the community
She is learning how to use the Bloomington bus system
She will learn a lot about where things are on campus

So far, we think it’s a great idea. If we find out otherwise I will definitely post that info too.

My daughter made many friends, got to know the campus better, gave back; it was truly worth it. When we returned on move in day for the rest of the college, she already had a core group of friends to hang out with.

One suggestion, after the 3pm freshman induction, there is an IUBeginings gathering where they share some pics and each group gets up and talks for 20 seconds about their trip. If I had to do it again, I would have said my goodbyes after the induction and let my daughter attend this with her IUBeginings group. This was not enjoyable for parents, it’s geared toward the students.

I have gone back from the IUBeginnings - transfer trip. We went to Bradford Woods, IN. It was awesome!!! It is totally worthed.
