I've decided to let it go

Hi, I’m from the Cornell ED forum and I want to share this with you. :)

Like me, I’m sure you guys who applied ED to Upenn are constantly coming to CC forum like every 3 seconds to check on updates! But doesn’t that make you even more nervous? lol
I must say, doing that made me even more nervous and anxious about the Cornell ED decision.

But, today (sunday here), as a Christian, I went to church and listened to a great sermon that actually related to us rite now in terms of getting accepted to a college and such…

and this is what i learned today…

I believe that there is a purpose in life. That purpose is, of course, different for everyone. However, whatever that may be, i just want everyone to know that “God” has a special plan for each every one of you. If you get accepted to Upenn, then Upenn was part of that huge plan. If you get rejected, then there is a greater plan for you waiting right in front of you. Things such as getting accepted/rejected to a college is something we cannot change because you dont know what really goes on in the admission committee.

When I heard this, I became not that nervous about this process anymore because I realized that this decision is merely a small part of the entire life.

I hope you feel a little relieved after reading this message. I know that you’ll still be nervous but no matter the result, know that you are still “you.”

o ya… p.s) i don’t want anybody to be offended by this post 'cuz you are not a christian or whatever… but I believe that every one of us has been given a special path of their own

hey
thanks for the support, dude. i think we all really needed a bit of a diffuser here.
gluck on ur decision, whatever it may be.
and yea, im kinda looking at the bigger pic right now myself.
yours,
(on behalf of the penn ed forum)
paro

if penn accepts me life’s great…if not, their loss  everyone here’s an amazing individual who will succeed one way or another… penn’s a process, not the final chapter.

thanks for sharing this! <3

im praying that i get into UPenn.

like no joke im praying that my bigger plan leads me to UPenn and i have been for the past like 2 weeks.

Personally I would prefer the path of a Penn student to a garbage woman, I don’t know about you guys :p

…okay, okay, I’m being ridiculous, but you know what I’m saying.

yeah i was at the temple this morn (i teach sunday school so i had to be) and i spent a good 20 minutes just begging. lol
plz let thursday be a good day, please please pleeeaaseee

Great post. Thanks!

religious applicants…

POUND IT!

I believe that saying it’s all a part of God’s plan is just a way for people to lessen the pain of failure, and I refuse to accept it. Therefore, I WILL be angered/annoyed etc. if I am rejected, but I will also get over it–for different reasons.

That’s like saying that my destiny is written out for me. Sorry, don’t believe in that.

Yes, I am sure that God had a path for Mussolini, Tomas de Torquemada, and Hitler too.

P.S. How many times will you post this?

Let God fill out all of my other applications if I’m rejected–that’d be a nice gesture, no?

No JyankeesSS2, god is only accountable for the good in the world. If you were rejected it would be your fault entirely; however, if you were accepted it would be all God’s doing.

Hey Jyank, I think this is one of those times where if you don’t agree just keep it to yourself. If people have faith, that’s a great thing. They’re probably happier and healthier people for it. There’s no need to mock anyone.

EDIT: This goes for qwilde as well.

I agree with jennyanne. Sorry if my comment came of as being blunt and insincere.

agreed. no need to start a war at a time like this…

well said, jennyanne.

lets thank the OP for trying to give us a message of support/hope.

Snarky comments are going to appear on any post, at this point. They have every right to express whatever they want, in whatever way they want…it would happen on any other post, and the fact that this post is religious shouldn’t change that.

Eh, sorry, hates political correctness

“Let God fill out all of my other applications if I’m rejected–that’d be a nice gesture, no?”
“I believe that saying it’s all a part of God’s plan is just a way for people to lessen the pain of failure, and I refuse to accept it.”

We’ll see whos hatin’ on God when we’re not here anymore and ur sitting there b4 him making his decision.

To Jyankees-

That might be true for some ppl but please dont over-generalize…

If you think getting rejected to a college is considered “failed” life, then i’m sorry you believe that.

Ya people sometimes “fail” in life but the important part is to get right back up and fight through it. THAT makes people ultimately successful.

If I get rejected, i don’t consider that “failed.” I’ll take it in and go to the right path in my life and be just as satisfied with my life.

Cuz at the end of the day, I know i’m gonna be still smiling and be thankful. :)
