Ivy leagues for international students

Hey everyone :)

I’m a student from SouthEast Asia, and I was just wondering if you have an idea of what the ivy league colleges look for in international students.
I would like to major in pharmacy/allied health/medicine in the future.

Thanks!!

You should go to each schools’ websites. They clearly spell out what sorts of criteria they hope to find in viable candidates. Your asking for a LIST here won’t get you much.

Know that Intl applicants face the greatest challenges in terms of admit rates to those eight colleges. But then again, you’d be foolish not to search for other colleges beyond those.

And you should probably posts these questions on http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/

rather than the parents forum. Good luck to you

If you haven’t already done so, you need to read through everything at [EducationUSA | Study Abroad, Student Visa, University Fairs, College Applications and Study in the U.S. / America](http://www.educationusa.state.gov) Then follow the links to find the advising center closest to where you live. The counselors there are expert at helping students like you find good places to study in the US.

You also should pay a visit to the International Students Forum: [International Students - College Confidential](International Students - College Confidential Forums)

and to the Med School Forum:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/pre-med-medical-school/

It is almost impossible for international students to be admitted to med school in the US. Many of those that do require that international students pay the full cost at the time of enrollment. Ask your parents how they feel about paying for four years hear at about USD 50,000 to USD 60,000 each year, and then follow that up by paying in the range of USD 250,000 for you to enroll in med school (if you even manage to get in). If medicine is your goal, you are best off to complete your medical education in your home country, and then come here for a specialization after graduation.

In addition to which, the Ivies are not the place to go for vocational majors such as pharmacy. To my knowledge, none of them offer it, not even Penn and Cornell.
