Jacobs University vs. Vassar College

So here’s the thing… I got accepted to Vassar with a pretty decent aid package that I can afford, but I’m not sure that going to the United States right now is something that I’m emotionally or otherwise prepared for or otherwise particularly keen on. Thus, I am contemplating applying to Jacobs University instead.

Do you think this is a good option or should I overcome my discomfort regarding Vassar and go there (seeing as it is one of the best universities in the United States)?

If you aren’t sure that you want to go to the US, why did you apply?

That is actually a real question. Being clear about what you wanted in the first place, then thinking about what has changed, can help you to clarify your “discomfort” about Vassar. In other words, is this just cold feet at the thought of going far away to something unfamiliar and unknown, or has something actually changed?

I agree woth collegemom. Was it your decision from the start to apply to the US or did your parents or someone else convince you that it was a good idea? If it was only your decision, what has changed since you decided to apply?

I was recommended to apply to Jakobs University but I really want to go to the US, so I did not even consider Jakobs. This is my subjective decision, so you really need to decide on your own what to do next. Don’t think about what is scary, since sometimes the scary things are the most exciting!
